Dark Vale Games

Review: First off, the address may not be current, but it's the best I could do. I actually have quite a few issues, a refund being one of them. The game that these developers released roughly a year ago cost me $20 and now is free to download, free to play, and as a paying customer I do not have access to all of the digital assets in the game, despite paying $20 in the past for, essentially, a license to the full game and everyone can now play it for free. This is my latest correspondence with other players of the game and one developer on their official website/forums: http://www.playforgewar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5668-refund-denied-by-gamers...⇄ community, as a whole, is less than pleasant and the developer even accuses me of being the instigator and that I'm, basically, in the wrong. No help, nor any refund, was offered to me as a paying customer that feels his rights as a consumer have been violated. I paid $20 for a full, retail game, and in return, they allowed everyone to play it for free and my "compensation" was a "starter pack" of useless items and some very abusive language on their forums. I didn't pay for a "starter pack" - I paid for the entirety of a full, retail game. The product I initially purchased no longer exists and I have been harassed by the development team and playerbase, as a whole, of this game. Why is it that I can't voice my opinion without being ridiculed and told to "shut the [redacted] up"? Since when do I live in a communist country and since when do I get to be disrespected like this by a company and it's supporters? I'm outraged by this and if it were any other product, there'd be no question I deserve a refund and apology. However, since it's a game and games/gamers are not viewed with respect or any form of seriousness, any legitimacy flies out the window for consumers in my situation and I'm left without a refund, angry, disgusted, and completely abused as a consumer and human being.UPDATE: I have been harassed further and accused falsely of doing so myself.Desired Settlement: I merely want my $20 back in the form of Steam Wallet funds through the Steam digital distribution service (Dark Vale Games can purchase a $20 Steam Wallet Code and email it to me if they have to). I also want an official, public apology on the behalf of the developers posted on their website and on the Steam Discussions Forums in response to myself and those that have been affected by harassment and poor customer service.
