Review: We hired Mr. Henshaw to remodel our home, as the work was completed and we moved back into our home we had several items that needed attention. First our basement windows were framed in so they would not open (he did finally get someone out here to fix it, but they did not caulk and touch up the woodwork once done). When building our back porch (4X4, composite material and vinyl post and rails) they used finishing nails and they all rusted so he had someone to come out and take them out and replace them with screws. Let me just say I now have extra screw holes, the screws are all screwed in different depths. I have cracked pieces and not to mention none of the post are the same height and the deck is not even level. They did not replace the rusty nails on the front of steps but painted over them, now I have brown spots on my white vinyl boards. When they built it, it is very obvious they did not know what they were doing. After Mr. Henshaw came out to see the poor work done on both items he said he would be in touch, I have yet to be able to get in touch with him via emails, text or phone calls. Since then the pan in my brand new tiled shower sprung a leak and was leaking into my basement (not even 6 months old). I had to pay out of pocket to have this fixed asap. We also had a new basement door installed and they did not install the threshold correctly because we had rain water coming into our basement from underneath the threshold, we again had to fix it ourselves. Several of our interior doors would not stay open, we took a couple of the screws out and took them to Lowe's for help and he said they should of never used the short screws they used. He was able to show me the correct screws that should of been used and I had to replace all the screws in every door, my doors now stay open. My doors still have gaps and are not level, some of them seem to be warped. With that being said Mr. Henshaw has yet to contact me to make things right. He talks a good game but he does not deliver!!Desired Settlement: I would like the materials for my back deck replaced and labor cost reimburse. I would also like all out of pocket expenses reimburse for all items we had to fix.

Response:

Dear Representative,Thank you for the ability to respond to Mrs. [redacted]

claims. Please find the following response attentive, and complete. In response to Revdex.com case # [redacted]Regarding Mrs. [redacted] first claim:The basement in Mrs. [redacted] home is unheated and

very damp. I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that in order for the windows to function

properly the basement needed to be heated in cooler temperatures and

dehumidified. Framing the windows was performed and left as an unfinished

project, just as Mrs. [redacted] requested. The basement was left unfinished as

Mrs. [redacted] chose not to spend the money to finish it at that time. The windows

were framed in, in an unfinished state. An issue did arise with the framing and

the inability to open the windows and that was addressed and repaired. Painting

the windows was performed as a courtesy. Caulking and touch up were not

included in that courtesy. She was given the remaining paint so as to perform

any touch up necessary to the home, and for any damage done while moving in. 2nd claim:Mrs. [redacted] contacted me on 2/12/15 about the 4x4

deck. She was unhappy with the fact that the boards had been nailed instead of

screwed. I contacted the builder on 2/13/15 and scheduled him to return to Mrs.

grade of the land at her home. The slightest amount of rain completely floods

her garage and basement. The home is old and is prone to foundational flooding.
