of Dash Electric was contracted to install 4 smoke detectors into 4 classrooms and hardwire them into the fire alarm panel. In order to do this work, plans/drawings were to be submitted, and permits pulled. *** did not submit any plans to the fire department, and he did not put in smoke detectors, but smoke alarms. Therefore, there is nothing to pay for.

I am emailing you in regards to complaint ID: *** made by *** against *** / Dash Electric.I am unaware as to why a complaint was filed when Dash Electric was not the responsible party for the project in discussion.Dash Electric was originally approached by *** requesting for smoke detectors to be hard wired in. After we discussed pricing, we actually reduced our rates from $2,700 to $1,400 as a favor to the customer.The work was completed and the smoke detectors were installed as requested.We then recieved notification from *** after the job was completed that the city fire department required the church to draw up blueprints and submit them with a set of plans to ensure that the smoke detectors would simultaneously work with the smoke alarms. At this point, we had already completed the job that we were initially hired to do and never recieved any payment for.Therefore, we made the decision to no longer accept additional work from this customer as we had already lost materials and time during the first job that we accepted with her. Not only that, but she expected us to do the project included at the same reduced rate. This new job would require even more time and materials.We attempted to reach *** several times with no response to inform her that permits were indeed pulled and to seek payment for the work that had been completed.Still, as of today, we have not recieved any form of payment. If there was a signed agreement in place, with details on what else was expected, we would have indeed honored it.However, we have still yet to get in contact with *** ever since. Not only did *** the owner reach out but I, his secretary called numerous times as well to seek payment.

I am rejecting this response because:Because it is inaccurate and many details are falsified. This company never installed smoke detectors or hardwired them into the fire alarm panel, in fact, they installed house-hold smoke alarms and no hard-wiring was done. If hard-wiring had been done, (which we stated at the time of hire was necessary, and is also in writing on the quote we received from ***), Dash Electric would have had no choice but to pull fire alarm permits for that type of work. This was never done. Both the fire department and the planning department can attest that no permits for this project was pulled on behalf of Ontario Christian Center. Our fire department representative *** came out to our location and saw for herself that this company did not hardwire any commercial smoke detectors, but gave us battery-operated smoke alarms that you find in an everyday home. She is also aware that no permits were ever pulled. I know this because she has sent me several emails asking me when would a vendor be submitting for the permits to be pulled, because her data base showed, and continues to show, that none were pulled. If the permits had been pulled and the correct job done, we would have no issue with this company. We are simply not going to pay for a service we did not receive, and we are seeking restitution directly from Dash Electric for the pain and suffering caused by their lack of professionalism and dishonesty which has put our business at risk due to not being able to move forward in the process in reinstating our childcare license. This company has really cost us several children in need of care and thousands of dollars worth of enrollment income we could have received had this job been done correctly from the start.The response from Dash Electric (*** and his secretary) is rejected!

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not believe ***
understands all that this situation entails at this point.

Had he done the job correctly
the first time, our ministry would have completed the necessary requirements
for the Child Care Licensing - which was the last thing we needed to have our
inspection approved. Now, 9 months later, we have lost a projected amount of
131,760.00 just in tuition alone. Not to mention we have entered into a new
year and the City of Ontario has made updates to the requirements on our fire
alarm panel, thus costing us more money (10,285.00). This is a very big issue
at this point. One that cannot just simply be rectified by *** doing what he
should have done months ago.
