Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#? ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
? The DMA does not provide proof as I requested, only their wordwhich is not good enough since they added me not once, but twice to their mail suppression list without my permission. The DMA is trying to divert attention from them by? placing blame on? the postal serviceThe postal service and it's employees? are not going to selectively stop deliveries only from DMA membersIf they did such a thing, it is logical this would be done indiscriminately with all advertising mailIf there was a problem with the postal service, this would also affect mail from companies I do business with, not just unsolicited advertisementsIf there was a problem with the postal service this would also affect credit card offers, which it does not, there is a different company that handles that. The only problem is not receiving unsolicited advertising which the DMA can stop with their mail suppression list, so this strongly suggests the problem is with themAlso I never see any mail from advertisers stating they are members of the Direct Marketing association.? ? ? ?

*** ** ***? Thank you for contacting DMA with a consumer’s concerns about receiving unsolicited promotional mail and unwanted catalogsWe appreciate hearing from you.? Do Not Mail file
??" DMA does have a mail suppression file called DMAChoice where consumers can register online for a nominal administrative fee of $at: *** It could take up to days to see an overall reduction in promotional mail since some mail might already be in the “mail stream process”However, if the consumer would only like to be removed from certain catalogs or promotional mailings then they should contact those companies individually.? As a reminder, the DMA is NOT the source of consumer names for marketing purposesWe do not supply companies with consumer names to send promotional mailThe DMA’s preference services:***are meant to assist consumers in reducing the overall volume of promotional mail but it will not stop all promotional mail.? It is important to note that this service will not eliminate all promotional mail since only our members are required to subscribe to this service and suppress the names before sending promotional mail to prospective customersYou would still receive promotional and donor mail from member companies that you have a relationship with as a customerAdditionally, it will not affect promotional mail from companies that are not members of the DMAFor instance, you would still receive promotional mail from political campaigns, restaurants, certain charitable organizations, local companies, and other organizations that are not members of the DMA? Companies that refer consumers to DMA are not appropriate in situations where the consumer is requesting name suppression from a specific company or organization.? When companies refer consumers to DMA, they often think that we are the list source and that DMA can remove consumers from in-house company files which is not the case.? ? The Data & Marketing Association encourages all marketers to adhere to its self-regulatory Guidelines for Ethical Business Practice? ***This includes promptly honoring individual opt-out requests, whether the individual is a customer or prospective customer.? Our guidelines require that companies keep a list of consumers who have asked not to hear from them and remove them from its in-house mailing lists and lists it may rent or shareOur guidelines also ask that companies provide source information upon request by a consumer.? For future reference, the consumer can visit the company’s online privacy policy to see how to contact the company directly to suppress email, mail or telephone numbers from future marketing or donor offersAdditionally, the consumer should ask for a supervisor to provide source informationAgain, DMA is NOT the source of consumer names for marketing purposes.? I hope this information is helpful? ? Sincerely,? ***
