Review: On 12/**/2013, Data Carpet installed carpet I bought from another vendor at my client's NYC apartment; the installation was unacceptable & seams were badly mismatched. On 1/*/14, I called my rep. & sent him photos of the seams. On 1/**/14, their foreman inspected & told me the job was not fixable without full replacement for a seamless installation; he said that Data was responsible for buying & replacing the carpet. I then ordered new carpet from my vendor with the verbal assurance from the rep. & the foreman that Data would reimburse me fully. On 3/**/14, the new carpet was installed well; then I sent them my vendor's balance due invoice, with the understanding that I would also be reimbursed for the deposit I paid, less the balance I owed them for the installation. Three weeks later I emailed & spoke to my rep. [redacted], who said he would speak to the bookkeeper to get the bill paid. This was my last direct voice contact with anyone there (4/**/14). Over the next 5 weeks, I tried repeatedly to get a response from anyone there with emails and voice mails, my only response was one email from [redacted] on 4/**/14 that he was to check with the bookkeeper the next workday. I needed to pay my vendor by May which I did; now I wanted Data to honor their commitment to me to reimburse me for the cost. By the way, throughout this time, they had no problem continuing to send me no less than five invoices for the balance I owed them for the labor charges. On 5/**/14, I called to ask the name of the [redacted], and was shuttled off to an anonymous voice mail without any further information. I then contacted the professional associations listed on their website to discover the [redacted]'s name--I was told [redacted] is the [redacted] and [redacted] the [redacted]. On 5/**/14 I sent these people a letter via certified mail to detail my complaint, but they did not accept the letter, and it was returned to me unopened on 6/**/14.Desired Settlement: $1,577.98 was the cost of replacement carpet plus freight that I paid my vendor, less 420.00, the balance I owe Data for their labor charges, for a total reimbursement of $1,157.98

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Data Carpet & Rug regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]I have not yet received the money owed me by Data Carpet. I was contacted by [redacted], the [redacted], last week because he was following up on the open invoice where I owed them for the balance due on the labor charge ($420.00). When I explained the situation to him that they actually owed me $1,157.98 after adjusting for the balance I owed them, he said he wasn't aware of the situation and he would take care of sending me the money in a few weeks after I forwarded him the invoice showing how much I paid for the replacement carpeting. He said he was unaware of the certified letter I sent him in May which was not accepted and returned to me by the post office. At any rate, I sent him the invoice as requested, and I am waiting for my check.
