As the lead supervisor for budget moving my duties are to oversee the Crews as well as maintain the quality control protocol of our companyLast week I was advised of a potential situation on one of our Local movesAt the direction of my boss Mr [redacted] I was dispatched to a job in south Sacramento that had a potential issue with the disassemble transportation and reassemble of a sleep number bedAfter speaking to our crew leader I felt it was best I respond to the origin location to address the shippers concernsUpon arrival I was informed by my crew that most of the contents were already loaded and that the shipper was not allowing them to move the sleep number bedI was advised by our crew leader that the bed in question was slightly different than the many we had moved in the pastI introduced myself to the shipper and went into the master bedroom to take a lookI immediately realized that this adjustable split base model sleep number bed was one of there most recent modelsIn just a few moments I showed the guys the difference in this new model that consisted of only one new featureThis feature is that the mattress was connected to the adjustable bases by plastic caps that needed to be unscrewed in order to separated for transportAs I was showing my guys this simple new feature the shipper came into the master bedroom and ask me if I was going to be present during the delivery at destination and the subsequent reassemble? When the shipper asked this she was yelling and using profanityI calmly advised the shipper that I would not be present for delivery and reassemble and was immediately barraged with a slew of cuss words and insultsAs a professional I remained calm and tried my best to assure the shipper of our crews ability to handle the relocation of the bed and to explain the simple step that they were not familiar withThe shipper continued to curse at me and at one point told me I was condescendingOnce she elevated her voice even louder her boyfriend came in and they both began to get in my face and yell at me using disgusting profanityAt that moment I was fearful of the situation and removed myself from their residence and contacted the owner my direct boss Mr ***I assured him that the concerns of the shipper were not really valid as the guys were unfamiliar with a simple design and that the crew was fully capable of moving this bed without incidentMr [redacted] asked me to talk to the shipper again in the hopes of calming her down and asking her to allow us to move the bedI tried to talk with the wife again and that did not go wellShe started to curse at me once again and told me that "I ain't no dumb black b....I know what the fI'm doingShe was yelling very loud at this point and I decided nothing I could do would de escalate the situationThe only thing left to load was the bed so I asked her one last time if she wanted us to move the bed and she adamantly refusedI then asked her if she wanted us to finish the move and deliver the already loaded contents and she agreedAt arrival at destination per protocol the crew leader attempted to collect the cost of the move estimating the unload to be one hourThe shipper was advised that we adjusted her bill by almost an hour to compensate for the small amount of time involved at origin discussing the shippers issuesShe was advised that the bill was at a total of hours and she told the crew leader she would only pay three hoursThere was in fact an additional guy provided for the move and we did not charge her for thatRegardless of why the additional manpower was provided that manpower did save the shipper time and the associated hourly costAfter speaking to Mr [redacted] we decided to just collect the hours in the hopes of simply resolving the situation and getting this job done and moving past this very trying situationThe shippers claims of theft are completely without merit and I would like to point out that the shipper did all there own packing and would also like to point out that our crews are trained to not touch items like jeweler currency purses and anything of that effect and to ask the shipper to move them if they are on something that we need to moveThis customer was very concerning to us as a whole and we felt our safety was in fact in jeopardy when the situation escalated The crew on their move was highly trained and comes with years of experience and we have had nothing even remotely similar happen of this nature on the moves handled by this crew on the many past moves Furthermore the allegations of substance abuse allegations by the crew are baseless and I would like to point out that the shippers boyfriend or husband was in fact smoking what appeared to be marijuana at the originOur crews are trained to remove themselves from the residence when drugs are suspected of being present however with the medical marijuana laws in the state we are trained not to treat marijuana use the same as we could offend a legitimate patientThank you for you time [redacted] N Adams StDixon,Ca

I am rejecting this response because: it still doesn't resolve the negligence of the company.I feel as if we're speaking in circles and not to resolve the situationThe only defense from the company thus far has been attempts at character attacksWas I using profanity and raising my voice? YesI was VERY angryAs I explained to the movers, my husband has had eight back surgeries and is permanently disabled, which is why we've invested in a Sleep Number bed to begin withAs a result of the situation that could have been prevented, my husband was forced to sleep on an uncomfortable surface for additional days until sleep number was able to come outSo yes, I was extremely angryDid I ever threaten anyone's safety? NoDid I get in anyone's face? NoIf at any time, the movers or the lead supervisor felt threatened, I could not understand why they would ever agree to continue with moving the items that they had, not remove themselves from the job entirely, or call law enforcement for assistanceIt's because there was never a threat of anyone's safetyAs for the marijuana use, he is completely correctMy husband uses medical marijuana and was smoking upon the lead's arrivalJust as he was smoking upon the mover's completion of the job in which of the movers accompanied himThe only mover that didn't smoke was the one with the multiple tattoos and pretty eyes (I don't remember his name)I don't know if either of them also use marijuana medically, but if that is the case, I doubt any business would allow their employees to be not only under the influence on the job, but also to do it within the presence of a customerI continuously apologized to all the movers asking them not to take my use of language, tone of voice, or frustration personallyAs it was not geared to them, it was the situationUpon they're completion, I apologized to them again telling them that I felt like they were put in the middle of a situation stuck between trying to satisfy a paying customer and following instructions from their supervisorsThey were very apologetic as wellI felt so bad that I gifted them with premium chocolate liquors in which they acceptedWe did pack our own belongings as wellFor this reason, is why I know that my husband's jewelry was stolenI myself, as I was putting our sleep number remotes in the top drawer of his nightstand, noted his three jewelry piecesOur nightstand has a jewelry holder incased in itSo they were not in clear site, although the movers would pull out the drawer slightly in order to maintain an easier grip of the nightstand upon moving it, which is when they may have seen the jewelryI even asked the movers about them taping the furniture drawers so that they did not move with transport in in order to secure the drawers as I had thought was supposed to be doneThey stated that they do that once the item is in the truckBut they didn't even do that, they simply covered the nightstand with a blanket once it was in the truckSo again, nothing that is being said thus far explains or makes the company's negligence justifiableMy use of language or frustration does not justify the reason why I felt as suchI have already stated an agreed what the lead supervisor stated in that I was not in agreement with the employees receiving a one-time on-the-job orientation of my bed for them to then be left alone to figure out after transportThat does not excuse the fact of the information that I was provided prior to the hiring of this move which was that the movers were capable and familiar with doing it already only to find out otherwise laterThey have already stated they would agree to lie detector tests in regards to the jewelry which I am ok with because I am confident that one of them took it

August 11, I received a call from [redacted]. [redacted]'s stated she needed to move the following day the 12th. I informed her what I was booked up for two weeks. [redacted] was crying and said her father just passed away and she just got back into town. I then told her I would come to her house for a free...

estimate at the end of the day. I arrived at 3:45 pm and was greeted by [redacted]’s brother who informed me he had been in the moving business for 9 years. A walk thru was done in the house and I was not able to open any of the closets for some reason. I asked her about the small garage an SUV and a lot of unpacked goods and was told it was her son’s items and that he is in prison for a long time. [redacted] then started to cry again. [redacted] stated she would pack all items in the house, as she had friends coming over that evening to help and the movers were not to do any packing. We sat down on the couch and discussed the price. A quote was given with 4 guys, two trucks @ $180 per hour for 10 hours coming to $1,800 and any packing was not included in that price and it would be additional. Next she was told that ward robe boxes would be available for her to use as long as she only packed clothes in them and they were stored in my facility. I explained to [redacted] that my facility is not your everyday in and out storage facility, that in fact her items would be stored in containers and vaults that are double stacked with a fork lift. [redacted] was then shown a picture of how items are stored. I even offered her to keep one box out with all her important documents that could be kept out of the vaults for her to get to. [redacted] agreed to the quote and I said I would have a crew arrive at 9 am to load her. At no time whatsoever were any personal advances even suggested during this entire ordeal. August 12, 2016 my crew arrived at [redacted]’s house only to find her not home. We were finally able to reach her and were told she was at work in a meeting and for us to go into the garage and start loading. As a professional moving company we do not enter a person’s residence when no one is home. While the crew waited for [redacted] arrived at 10 am already causing an hour delay. Upon entering the home the crew could still see that the home had not been packed as we were told it would be. [redacted] then asked two of the movers to assist her upstairs with packing the boxes. [redacted] the crew manager then proceeded to show [redacted] the contract and specifically pointed out that packing was not included. [redacted] got upset and sent the movers back downstairs. [redacted] then called me up and started complaining about [redacted] All crew members were professional during entire move. [redacted] was quoted for a not to exceed of 10 hours. Due to [redacted] arriving an hour late and not being packed we were already at 9 hours when the truck arrived at the warehouse. The truck still had to be unloaded. This only gave the not to exceed one hour to unload two trucks. August 13, 2016 I received another call from [redacted] asking for a truck to pick up all remaining items that had not been packed the night before. [redacted] was notified of the change of order and a crew was sent out to her home. Upon arrival [redacted] now refused to sign the change of order and I out of the goodness of my heart told the crew to pick up all remaining items. At this point we are well over the not to exceed and I’m out fuel charges and 36 ward robe boxes had been given to her to use. I then received another call from [redacted] asking if she could come get clothes and shoes out of the ward robe boxes. She had 36 of them! I explained to her that her brother would be coming the next day. I do not work on Sunday’s but agreed to go to the warehouse so the items could be picked up. I waited all day there and received a call from your brother stating he too could not get a U-Haul. I spent my entire day off waiting for you to get your clothes and you did not show. August 14, 2016 [redacted] was a no show to pick up items. That same evening I received another call from [redacted] stating she wanted to come get all items being stored in my warehouse. I told her that for insurance reasons she or any family member could not come into my warehouse since she signed the warehouse agreement and decided she did not want to pay the warehouse charges that were spelled out on the contract. $98 dollars per hour for guys to bring everything out of the vaults and containers to the loading dock. 5 hour of labor it will take. I then told [redacted] if she sent a licensed and insured moving company there would be no charge. [redacted] agreed and asked to pick up her items on Tuesday August 16th at 8:30 am. I explained to her my first opening was Friday the 19th at noon. Upon pick up she needed to pay for all 36 ward robe boxes at $17.50 apiece. When I could have charged her for the packing, second day truck, labor cost, fuel charge. Rather than be grateful for me even fitting the move into my schedule that was two weeks booked out, [redacted] decided to file a theft report at Elk Grove PD accusing me of holding her stuff for ransom. After I submitted the signed Moving Contract, Warehouse agreement not to exceed form showing packing is additional charge, which she signed, the Police Department called me back and said this is a civil matter and thanked me for trying to get her goods back to her. August 16th [redacted] filed a dispute for the initial move of $1,800 with the bank and said I fraudulently used her card and the bank withdrew the money from my account. At time of payment [redacted]’s credit card was declined. [redacted] was only able to pay half and the following day pay the other half. In all the confusion her card was overcharged $132.68 when it was brought to my attention I instantly credited back the $132.68. Since she has disputed the charge and got the $1,800 back for initial move she also got a credit of $132.68. At this time I cannot anyone to pick up [redacted]’s property until she is paid in full per the signed agreements. This consumer is defrauding the merchant. There is a lien on all goods until paid in full.

I am rejecting this response because: it still doesn't resolve the negligence of the company.I feel as if we're speaking in circles and not to resolve the situation. The only defense from the company thus far has been attempts at character attacks. Was I using profanity and raising my voice? Yes. I was VERY angry. As I explained to the movers, my husband has had eight back surgeries and is permanently disabled, which is why we've invested in a Sleep Number bed to begin with. As a result of the situation that could have been prevented, my husband was forced to sleep on an uncomfortable surface for 5 additional days until sleep number was able to come out. So yes, I was extremely angry. Did I ever threaten anyone's safety? No. Did I get in anyone's face? No. If at any time, the movers or the lead supervisor felt threatened, I could not understand why they would ever agree to continue with moving the items that they had, not remove themselves from the job entirely, or call law enforcement for assistance. It's because there was never a threat of anyone's safety. As for the marijuana use, he is completely correct. My husband uses medical marijuana and was smoking upon the lead's arrival. Just as he was smoking upon the mover's completion of the job in which 2 of the 3 movers accompanied him. The only mover that didn't smoke was the one with the multiple tattoos and pretty eyes (I don't remember his name). I don't know if either of them also use marijuana medically, but if that is the case, I doubt any business would allow their employees to be not only under the influence on the job, but also to do it within the presence of a customer. I continuously apologized to all the movers asking them not to take my use of language, tone of voice, or frustration personally. As it was not geared to them, it was the situation. Upon they're completion, I apologized to them again telling them that I felt like they were put in the middle of a situation stuck between trying to satisfy a paying customer and following instructions from their supervisors. They were very apologetic as well. I felt so bad that I gifted them with premium chocolate liquors in which they accepted. We did pack our own belongings as well. For this reason, is why I know that my husband's jewelry was stolen. I myself, as I was putting our sleep number remotes in the top drawer of his nightstand, noted his three jewelry pieces. Our nightstand has a jewelry holder incased in it. So they were not in clear site, although the movers would pull out the drawer slightly in order to maintain an easier grip of the nightstand upon moving it, which is when they may have seen the jewelry. I even asked the movers about them taping the furniture drawers so that they did not move with transport in in order to secure the drawers as I had thought was supposed to be done. They stated that they do that once the item is in the truck. But they didn't even do that, they simply covered the nightstand with a blanket once it was in the truck. So again, nothing that is being said thus far explains or makes the company's negligence justifiable. My use of language or frustration does not justify the reason why I felt as such. I have already stated an agreed what the lead supervisor stated in that I was not in agreement with the employees receiving a one-time on-the-job orientation of my bed for them to then be left alone to figure out after transport. That does not excuse the fact of the information that I was provided prior to the hiring of this move which was that the movers were capable and familiar with doing it already only to find out otherwise later. They have already stated they would agree to lie detector tests in regards to the jewelry which I am ok with because I am confident that one of them took it.

My movers have moved 100s of sleep number beds over the yearsThis is one of the newest models my guys have not encounter before so they calledout the supervisor his brother works for sleep number he explained to the crew the difference between the old and the new.she  insisted he followed the...

truck to the unload . He said he could no so she said move everything but the bed.The crew was well versed and was capable of moving the bed after that. The [redacted] was acting very unprofessional with bad language and close to the point of threatening the supervisor . He would have canceled the move if not for the factthe truck was over half full. [redacted] E-mailed me with her concerns. and wanted us to pay for the sleep # co to move the bed.I explained we gave a 3 man crew for the price of 2 and she saved $100 + in the time it would have taken with a 2 man crew .+ she refused to unload the FREE wardrobe boxes we let the [redacted]s use and said she was keeping them and not paying for them.$17.50 each. Any wasted time was due the the [redacted]s actions. Then we have the missing Jewelry all of my movers have agreed to take a lie detector test if they come up guilty we will pay if not [redacted] pays.

As the lead supervisor for budget moving my duties are to oversee the Crews as well as maintain the quality control protocol of our company. Last week I was advised of a potential situation on one of our  Local moves. At the direction of my boss Mr [redacted] I was dispatched to a job in south Sacramento that had a potential issue with the disassemble transportation and reassemble of a sleep number bed. After speaking to our crew leader I felt it was best I respond to the origin location to address the shippers concerns. Upon arrival I was informed by my crew that most of the contents were already loaded and that the shipper was not allowing them to move the sleep number bed. I was advised by our crew leader that the bed in question was slightly different than the many we had moved in the past. I introduced myself to the shipper and went into the master bedroom to take a look. I immediately realized that this adjustable split base model sleep number bed was one of there most recent models. In just a few moments I showed the guys the difference in this new model that consisted of only one new feature. This feature is that the mattress was connected to the adjustable bases by 4 plastic caps that needed to be unscrewed in order to separated for transport. As I was showing my guys this simple new feature the shipper came into the master bedroom and ask me if I was going to be present during the delivery at destination and the subsequent reassemble? When the shipper asked this she was yelling and using profanity. I calmly advised the shipper that I would not be present for delivery and reassemble and was  immediately barraged with a slew of cuss words and insults. As a professional I remained calm and tried my best to assure the shipper of our crews ability to handle the relocation of the bed and to explain the simple step that they were not familiar with. The shipper continued to curse at me and at one point told me I was condescending. Once she elevated her voice even louder her boyfriend came in and they both began to get in my face and yell at me using disgusting profanity. At that moment I was fearful of the situation and removed myself from their residence and contacted the owner my direct boss Mr [redacted]. I assured him that the concerns of the shipper were not really valid as the guys were unfamiliar with a simple design and that the crew was fully capable of moving this bed without incident. Mr [redacted] asked me to talk to the shipper again in the hopes of calming her down and asking her to allow us to move the bed. I tried to talk with the wife again and that did not go well. She started to curse at me once again and told me that "I ain't no dumb black b....I know what the f... I'm doing. She was yelling very loud at this point and I decided nothing I could do would de escalate the situation. The only thing left to load was the bed so I asked her one last time if she wanted us to move the bed and she adamantly refused. I then asked her if she wanted us to finish the move and deliver the already loaded contents and she agreed. At arrival at destination per protocol the crew leader attempted to collect the cost of the move estimating the unload to be one hour. The shipper was advised that we adjusted her bill by almost an hour to compensate for the small amount of time involved at origin discussing the shippers issues. She was advised that the bill was at a total of 4 hours and she told the crew leader she would only pay three hours. There was in fact an additional guy provided for the move and we did not charge her for that. Regardless of why the additional manpower was provided that manpower did save the shipper time and the associated hourly cost. After speaking to Mr [redacted] we decided to just collect the 3 hours in the hopes of simply resolving the situation and getting this job done and moving past this very trying situation. The shippers claims of theft are completely without merit and I would like to point out that the shipper did all there own packing and would also like to point out that our crews are trained to not touch items like jeweler currency purses and anything of that effect and to ask the shipper to move them if they are  on something that we need to move. This customer was very concerning to us as a whole  and we felt our safety was in fact in jeopardy when the situation escalated.  The crew on their move was highly trained and comes with years of experience and we have had nothing even remotely similar happen of this nature on the moves handled by this crew on the many past moves.  Furthermore the allegations of substance abuse  allegations by the crew  are baseless and I would like to point out that the shippers boyfriend or husband was  in fact smoking what appeared to be marijuana at the origin. Our crews are trained to remove themselves from the residence when drugs are suspected of being present however with the medical marijuana laws in the state we are trained not to treat marijuana use the same as we could offend a legitimate patient. Thank you for you time. [redacted] 500 N Adams StDixon,Ca 95620

I am rejecting this response because: First his dates are way off. He has made several attempts through [redacted] Elk Grove PD Sac PD CPU and myself attempting to exhort additional monies from me after a less than 24 hr complaint to return all of my belongings and to honor the damaged furniture. Steve continues to represent himself as the owner and continue to harass me via internet, phone and text messages asking me to give him another chance with offers to move into his personal home and bragging about his money. Steve after police advised him to stop has continued to make now 5 appointments for me to pick up my things but is never available when we show up after he gives date [redacted] and where abouts of my belongings. I paid for climate controlled units for my very expensive furnishings and clothes shoes designer bags etc and an additional space for my vehicle. Which was never used my vehicle is in the mechanic shop. I understand my furnishing are in a wooden box or crait of sorts. I have investigated and found multiple women in the past he has done this to and even brags about dating them (5). I want compensation for my damaged marble dresser another $1200 for new movers monies to purchase clothing for work and church $500 shoes $300 new storage unit $400 pain and suffering $5000. I want this crook and pervert stopped for good and his ability to have any dealings with this sort of business in any compasity  revoked. I would like to also see all Federal charges be brought up against [redacted] and the necessary fines attached. This is one frightening dangerous predator who will only get worse if nothing is done.
