Data Vision Computer Video Inc. Reviews (12)

I have waited for nearly two years to give these jerks the lowest review they could possible get. OnApril 28,2016,I tried to order a Apple 27" iMac from these clowns.I spoke with a guy named "JJ",whom Data Vision claimed does not exist. The call was made at 915 in the morning,NewYork time. The computers to be charged to American Express card. I waited two hours and called back to make sure the purchase had been approved and the computer would be sent out as soon as possibly.JJ didn't exist, which made me know I was getting punched.I spoke with a lady in customer Service department named Karen. She told me American Express would not authorize the $1999.00 purchase. I told her I would call and find out what the problem was and asked hertz try again. After numerous calls to Amex, some girl in the credit department told me it wasn't the credit department who refused to authorize the purchases was the security department. I inquired as to why they stopped approval. She said se didn't know.I called the Security Department but never got to speak to a human .I left several messages, nada! I tried for most of the day trying to get answers but Amex is about as honorable as Data Vision is.I finally called Karen back and ask if she had gotten approval she said know. That was at 4 pm,NY time.I told her to try one more time and if she failed to cancel my order and hung up.Never heard back from the security department but I can tell you my FICO score has been above 800 for over 20 years and there should never be problem since my card limit with AMEX was oked purchases up to $3000 with no person to person approval required. At least that is what they told, both in writing and verbally.Thinking my attempt to purchase should have been cancelled that day before Karen went home. That is what she told me she was going to do.Sixteen days later,UPS knocks on my door with a package.Thinking it was something my wife had ordered I signed for it and left it on my porch.Later that day,I found out it was from Data Vision and it was that computer. The day after I requested a cancellation of my order,I went down to Apple Store and bought a newer model of the same computer cost me $200 more than Data Vision was selling their one year older product.I called Data Vision and told them I had cancelled my attempted purchase the same day the I had tried to purchase the computer.I was told by one of Data Vision's employees that there was no "JJ" and that the purchase had been approved the same day and was shipped out the very next day. This I later found out was a complete unmitigated lie.Next they told me that I cold ship it back to the but it had to arrive at their store no later than two days from that day and that there would be a "restocking" fee.I inquired as to how much the restocking fee was and was told it varied according to the condition of the computer. I Tod them the computer was still sitting in their opened shipping box. Then the clown told me it would likely be 35% but could be as high as 45% restocking fee.I told him both demands were absurd.I called AMEX but I soon found out that the service AMEX promises in all of their brochures and multi-media advertising is a joke. They were more worried about their merchant's well being than mine.I asked the lady with AMEX what was the date of approval and was told it was 6 days after I had purchased the computer.I asked why didn't they call me and see if I still wanted this product.Crickett chirping was all I heard.I went over the heinous return requirements were and told her it would cost me $168 in shipping alone and up to $990 in restocking fees.I told her I had requested they cancel my order and forget about the purchase so why did they approve this fraudulent purchase. She stated it was approved because Data Vision had already shipped the computer before it was approved.I told someone was lying r better everyone was lying.I called Data Vision and asked when the computer was sent and was told it went out on the 7th of May.I knew I had been had. They were "push" selling me something that I no longer needed or wanted and my only recourse was to pay these thieves $+/-$1200.I refused to pay for the garage cost to return something I never ordered. This is where I comes to an end, for now. AMEX has told me they are requiring me to pay for this computer which I do not need or want since I have a model match, one year newer. These thieves have lied and lied to the point they don't even know what the truth is.I am not going to pay and AMEX can sue me.I'll drag down this computer to court and give it to AMEX.I will sue AMEX if they again try to use my stellar credit rating against me by threatening to report this as a no pay to al three credit reporting agencies. So,kiddies, here is the bottom line.AMEX and Data Vision are crooks and don't give a f[redacted] about you or what happens to you. I blame AMEX as much as Data Vision. Who ever heard of a 45% restocking fee or having to return a product with in 2 working das. By the way, the fee for that was $168.00.I hear that there were so many complaints against Data Vision that they are no longer on Amazon's "preferred merchant" list.Wish me luck!MY advice is to not do business with either of these less than reputable companies.

Review: I purchased a Macbook through [redacted] with these people and Paid $28.00 for "expedited" shipping and handling. Its been over 24 hours and the item hasnt even shipped, but of course the credit card was charged, I did this to avoid long stupid lines and going out of my way to the store. I wrote them through [redacted] and received no response, [redacted] says they do not have any power of the company shipping the items and fulfilling the order right away. I will never use this company again for the lack of communication regarding my issue, and I will make sure to tell everyone to go to [redacted] like I am going to do today. This is how these stupid little stores get eaten out by big box stores, hope this place goes out of business.Desired Settlement: Send me my item over night.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We have received and reviewed the complaint submitted under ID#[redacted] The item ordered by the customer was not shipped because [redacted] never provided the order to our company. According to our [redacted] did not provided the customer order because they were not able to complete the payment with the customer. Our company did not received any type of payment for this order since [redacted] did not provided it to us. The customer needs to contact [redacted] so they can further assist in refunding the amount that was charged.

Kind Regards,

Review: November **, 2013 I ordered two Eliminator Instigator [redacted] for $121.20 each for the second time. It showed to be in stock for that price. I was even on the phone with them to check my order from me ordering on the 16th, but they had no record of me ordering it, and they told me it said it was in stock. Listed 3-7 business days. After the seventh business day, I decided to email customer service and ask for status. Today, December *, 2013, I received and email from [redacted] letting me know I was getting refunded the money. I checked the website to see if it was not in stock and found it was in stock, but the price had went up to $234.99 each. I called today and asked [redacted] what was going on and why I was getting refunded. She told me that I was getting refunded because it was listed at the wrong price. I see where that was an error, but if I ordered it at $121.20 each, I don't see why I am punished for it.Desired Settlement: I would like the lights at the price they were advertised for when I ordered it.

Business

Response:

We are responding to the complaint filed by [redacted]. It was not a matter of pricing issue, this product is discontinue in our system. The item is not even on our website, it is simply that the item is not available and discontinued. If there's another product that the customer would like we would gladly give a discount to make up the inconvenience.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Then why is it still on your website with the words "in stock" below it? And I know it is not a different product, it is the eliminator instigator 2.0.. Are you telling me that when they updated the website with the price change, that if it was unavailable, you would just leave it on your website for another customer to purchase it so you can just refund their money. That doesn't even make since.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We have fixed the issue on our website. Again, we apologize but this item is not available and we do not have it in stock. If there is another product that the customer wishes to purchase we would gladly work with him to make up for the inconvenience.

Review: I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2 7.0 4G LTE - [redacted], through [redacted] from DataVision computer video - [redacted] - [redacted], New York [redacted] -- I received the tablet on October [redacted] and returned it October [redacted]. I decided to return the tablet because after trying to get set up with [redacted] Services I realized having the 4G service was going to cost me more than $50.00 monthly. I can not fit that into my budget. I do not have a cell phone for that reason. I thought it would be cheaper, like $20/$30 monthly. I sent the tablet back with all the material that it came with and paid for shipping. What I did do was gently hi-lite some key instructions on the little 3X4" booklet so my eye would go there when I needed to refer to instructions. A booklet... How hard is that for a distributor to get? Does it cost $80.00? It states - No longer want within 30 days - Refund = 15% restock fee. That is outrageous alone but they charged me double, totalling $80.00. [redacted] kept coming back to me with different excuses for instance, I didn't pay for shipping - I told them I had the receipt, then packing material-totally untrue. That was sent with everything it came with as I took the box with the tablet and placed everything together in the shipment box as I do with every purchase I make. I could not get the charger plug apart as it would ruin it, I did however put the plastic back around the plug though, they cost $4.99 online. I figure these are things that that hefty 15% restock fee is for. I'm sorry I was not able to keep the tablet, it was not my intension to return it.Desired Settlement: After all the trouble and outrage this has caused me I should get a full refund as they will be able to resell that tablet for full price but all I am asking for is that they take their 15% as it states and put the rest back with the refund on my account. Maybe some people can afford to let something like this go, that is a lot of money to me and I need it.

Review: I purchased a coffee machine from Datavision, they sent me a defective machine, I tried numerous time to get in touch with the supervisor of the customer service, for him to issue an UPS code so that I can return the machine and get reimbursed, however, he never picks up the phone, and all the others refer me only to him for my problem.Desired Settlement: Email me the UPS code, I send the machine back, Datavision sends me a working machine.

Review: I purchased a Withings Pulse pedometer from Datavision through [redacted] on June * for $116.40. It worked for the 8 or 9 times I wore it but now has stopped working. I would like a refund. I asked for this through the [redacted] return system and got an email back for Datavision saying I needed to have the original packaging. I don't have the packaging, as I had intended to keep the product.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchase a computer from Amazon through Data Vision. The computer was a Christmas present for my daughter. The computer was not compatible with some of the programs she uses so I sent it back. The computer was sent and received on January **. I contacted the company for refund information and was told it would take three days from receipt. I then contacted them again via email again in regards to this product and was again told it would take a few days. This went on for two weeks and I was given various answers from it was being expedited to a few days to when did we receive it. When they finally used the trackig information and found out it was in their warehouse, I then received a message that there was a scratch on the screen so they would not be able to refund the full amount. I paid 457.00 and they stated they would only give me 250.00 due to the scratch. There was NO scratch in the screen and the company said that they could not send a picture because it was so small it did not show up when the computer was on. I again requested a full refund. They again refused. I also pointed out the the computer was in the warehouse for three weeks and maybe they should look into if their employees caused the damage because when I sent it back there was no scratch and it was in mint condition. Company again refused. I then contacted Amazon to assist. The company then sent me a refund of 199.00 (not even the 250.00 origianlly stated ) and stated they werer finished with me! I am still working with Amazon but wanted to save any other person the frustration and anger over this. It is absurd the way the company treats it supposed customers and that they are essentiall stealing from or ripping their customers off and are allowed to get away with it.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the amount paid.

Business

Response:

When we received the computer back at our location there was a scratch on the screen, based on the condition of the returned merchandise, customer was restocked. We would not normally do this but because we value you as a customer, we are offering to split the restocking fee of $129.00. (457.00 - 199.00 = 258.00/2 = 129.00). Customer may contact us via email at [redacted] (please reference Revdex.com Complaint ID#) or contact [redacted] @ ###-###-####-[redacted]to have the credit processed. We hope you find this solution satisfactory and fair.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The computer was sent back in the condition it was purchased in. There was no scratch in the screen, furthermore, the company could not provide evidence of the scratch. They stated they could not take a picture of it due to the size and that it would not show when the computer is on. As far as I am concerned this is how the company cheats its customers out of their money. The company had the computer on its premises for two weeks before I received a reply from them that stated there was a "supposed" scratch. I paid 457.00 for the computer and remain steadfast in the opinion that I deserve a full refund and that the company still owes me 257.00.

Review: I have sent 2 certified letters and 2 emails to their customer service/returns addresses. I have not received any response from the company to any of my correspondence. On 3/**/2015, I was shipped a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" 16G display on Sales Order [redacted] for $259.00. I decided I did not want this item so I contacted DataVision by email and they provided an email response with an RMA Number [redacted] to me with a promise of a refund less the 15% restocking fee. I shipped the item back on 3/**/2015 via [redacted] ground. I have provided the tracking number and [redacted] proof of delivery to DataVision in each of my emails and certified letters requesting my refund. My latest certified letter was sent 7/**/15 and I have a signed return receipt from them. My latest email was sent to them 8/*/2015. I have not received any responses, and I have not received any refund.Desired Settlement: They have my returned item. I want the refund of $259.00 less the 15% re-stocking fee - as promised.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased several Samsung LCD TVs from this vendor whom I have done business with for the last 10 years. After receiving the boxes and opening them, I noticed a crack in one of the units. I quickly contacted my sales rep and refused to sign the receipt. The sales rep didn't have the authority and put me in-touch with [redacted]. The [redacted] extremely rude told me to take it up with [redacted] insurance division. I then quickly placed a dispute on the charge. Stating that I did not authorize the vendor to charge my card. The vendor then forges my signature and sends it to [redacted] as a reply. After one year of going back and forth [redacted] could not do anything for me. I contacted my sales rep again and told him I am willing to take a lose and he said he spoke to the [redacted] and they are willing to give me a $1000 store credit. They also want came and picked up the broken TV. After picking up the TV their story quickly changed. They no longer wanted to give me the credit anymore but rather discount towards future purchases and asked me to purchase $10k worth of merchandise. I stopped giving these crooks and thrives my business. They are one of the most dishonest electronic stores in America.Desired Settlement: I would like to get at least the credit the promised me over the phone.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com - we've attached our last response to [redacted], notice the amount of times we dealt with this matter and the cases have all been closed in our favor. DataVision can not be held liable for customer's mishap. DataVision acted in good faith and tried to accommodate the customer but it is not feasible to honor his request due to the timeframe that lapsed and the damages incurred. If you need further details please contact us directly, thank you.

Review: I purchased a ASUS tablet on line (through [redacted]) from Data Vision in New York, New York. It was delivered on June [redacted] 2013 and was defected. I contacted both Data Vision and ASUS Tech support and was told to conduct several re-starts of the operating system. I was told by ASUS the tablet was defected and should return it to Data Vision. We spoke with [redacted] at Data Vision and was told the we had to ship the tablet back to Data Vision AT OUR OWN EXPENSE (which we did). The tablet was delivered via USPS to data Vision on June [redacted] 2013. At this point I was out about $100.00 in costs for screen savers, return shipping ect. My wife spoke with Data Vision and we have an e-mail from Data Vision confirming the tablet was in their possession. Several follow up phone calls were placed and still no refund to my credit card. Made more inquiries' and kept getting the run around about getting my refund. On June [redacted] Data Vision (through [redacted]) says they need a password to open the tablet. We provided several different passwords, none of which Data Vision claim would work. Do not fully understand this part, not being an IT Tech, but I went on line and found several websites that walk you through the process of opening a tablet without a password. Now that data Vision has had the tablet over 10 days they have decided not to give us a refund for the defective tablet. I have telephone records that will support the numerous phone calls to Data Vision dating back to June [redacted] and to ASUS, the tablet manufacture. It is my opinion that Data Vision has done everything they can not to refund me for a defective product they sold to me. They have been totally unprofessional in the manner they have treated my wife during the phone calls she has made to Data Vision hoping to rectify the situation. The fact is Data Vision sold us a defective tablet, this was confirmed by ASUS to be defective, and Data Vision is refusing to refund my credit card.Desired Settlement: Full refund of $424.99 to my credit card

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Data Vision is incorrect in their statement. The computer was returned in excellent condition and I was told their would be no restocking fee. Data Vision refused to acknowledge the computer was defective when I received it and was very disrespectful on the phone with me and refused to pay return shipping costs. After contacting [redacted] they stepped up [redacted] attempted to get the refund from Data Vision, with negative results. After several weeks of no response from Data Vision, [redacted] did the right thing and issue me a full refund on the computer.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We have received and reviewed the complaint submitted under ID [redacted]. Our company has not engaged on any type of unethical practices or false advertisement. [redacted] placed an order on [redacted] for TV model #50FS5600; the pricing he saw was part of a system glitch. The technical issues experienced were immediately addressed and resolved. [redacted] requires the seller to cancel orders experiencing any type of issues within 24 hours and notify the customer. This action was taken and the customer was notified within the required time frame. Businesses are not exempt from technological issues; very rarely our company encounters such issues. We work very hard to ensure our products pricing and availability are as accurate as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot fulfill the customer order because this order was immediately canceled and was not processed in our system. DataVision Computer Video, Inc. did not receive $274.40 as he stated. If the money was debited from his

account, he will need to contact [redacted] or his bank to resolve that matter. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to [redacted]. A copy of [redacted] Pricing Policy has been enclosed; this policy can also be found at [redacted]

Thanks,
