I have been dealing with this company since Jan for a refund, because I cancelled the installation of a security system I cancelled the service on Dec I paid my credit card bill and that charge of $***was on itOn Jan I called the office and it was indicated to me that was the first they had heard about a refund for meI was told that it would take to days for the refund cheque to come to meI told her it did not take that time period for the charge to be put on my cardAfter many phone calls I was told that the owner was out of the office and she was the only person with check signing authority
On Feb received a refund cheque from Price's, dated Jan I deposited it on Feb On Feb I got a letter from my credit card provider telling me that the $***charge had been reversedOn Feb I phoned my credit Card provider to instruct them to put that amount back on my cardThey did and my credit Card provider told me that meant the dispute was resolvedI agreed with them and made notes on the letter they had sent meWhile checking my March credit card statement I saw that Price's had put a charge of $***on March I contacted them by emails and they would not reverse this chargeI filed a dispute with my credit card providerOn March and was told that the dispute was resolved, on April 2015, the charge was reversed

I have had to replace two sensors and now it looks like the second battery, which is not an insignificant cost, in less than four years They can't get a technician out to the house without waiting for usually two weeks or more

When booking appointments - make sure you answer the phone at the start of your appointment time or they will cancel your appointment in minutes if you don't call them back(doesn't help if you're on the phone with a customer of your own at that point)
This policy which was/is never disclosed ended up costing me paid time away from my clients as I had to take a second window of time off for the survey and the install
Every point through the conversation revolved around the value of their technicians time and at no point was there recognition of the value of my time
While the monitoring team at prices is good - the install/dispatch team leaves a lot to be desired!

When we moved in August 2014, we cancelled our serviceEven though we knew we would only require their services for months come renewal time, the representative convinced us to purchase for the whole year- claiming the refund process was "simple and easy"It is now February and we have yet to see a check
In the past weeks, I must have called their offices, over timesEach time I call, someone passes the responsibility off to someone elseI have been promised a phone call back five timesNo one has called me back
When I called today, they still had "no answers"It has been monthsNo one has made any effort to contact us and give us updates

My 3 year experience with (Price's Alarms).

I signed a contract with them Oct. 11 2013 for a monitored home alarm system on a 36 month term. With this agreement I had to pay them 100.00 for the system and 31.49 for monthly monitoring fee's for the next 3 years. I now own the system. With 1 year warranty.
Approximately 6 months into the contract the battery needed to be replaced and they told me that they have batteries in stock at their office here in [redacted] for 50 plus. batteries aren't covered under warranty and NO customer discount! But being somewhat of a handyman myself, I knew of a local battery place and gave them a call. They quoted me around 27.00 taxes in, for the exact same battery.
Well now 34 months into my contract with 2 months left, the control panel again started to beep/flash every 4-5 minutes. Another low battery warning on monitor. So I replaced the battery again, but this time...I could not reset the panel. I called their tech support and they insist that it should be a easy fix for their tech. to come to my house for 90.00 for a half hour...yikes!!!! Well when this guy showed up he push the same codes I did, to erase the low battery error messages that I was getting. To no avail, he decided to totally disassemble the control panel. After looking inside he didn't find anything out of the ordinary, so he reassembled the control panel. When he plugged back in the power cord the whole system went completely haywire ( error messages from all sensors) not just a low battery warning. He then looked at me and said, the control panel needs to be replaced at 450.00 + installation. With only 2 months left on my contract I decided not to have it fixed. But because I signed a contract for 3 years with 2 months left, I was obligated to pay for the last 2 months monitoring fees 31.49 per month. The person I talked to wasn't very friendly at all.
I'm not complaining about the last 2 months monitoring fee's here as I signed a contract. But on Oct.1/16 I received a email from Price's Alarms head office. Stating that, I was suppose to give them 2 months (written notice) of cancellation. My alarm system hasn't worked for the last 2 months already and my 3 year contract was already over!. And because I didn't know this, to give them a written notice, they already withdrew 31.49 for the month of October and I still owe for November. I looked at my contract and realized in small print near the bottom of the contract, it does state this clause!!!
I went to my bank and stopped payment for the auto withdrawal for the month of November. I Had to pay my bank 20.00 for the stop payment.

Terrible service. They took our contract over and were not willing to help get system functioning properly. Very unmotivated, tarty, unknowledgeable and expensive. Never did get It running right. Had to go elsewhere. Second company came in and solved It no problem and NO CHARGE.

Terrible install, they didn't get it going for 2 weeks and since then I have issues and they won't come fix it. Keep taking my money even though we have cancelled with them twice or more..$[redacted] every six months. I can't even get a tech to call me to fix the system, waited six months at least and of course when our credit card was expiring they were anxious to talk to us. The lady was very nice, apologized over and over. Promised someone in [redacted] would come and fix the system..noone ever did, we since went with a new alarm company. Another 6 months payment was due on February 1 and on January 18 another lady called assuring me that the account would be cancelled..It went out yesterday from my visa..NEVER let these guys in your accounts..send them a cheque monthly so you can control your own money...My only choice now is small claims. Prices provided terrible service and won't even call you.
