UNPROFESSIONAL - UNKNOWLEDGEABLE - DISRESPECTFUL. Thankfully, I didn't hire these folks myself but sadly, my elderly neighbor did. They didn't call #811 and they didn't pull any permits nor did they do any sort of land plotting or surveying. They disconnected our entire neighborhood [redacted] connection as a result of their ignorance, used my property and driveway as a job-site dump without my permission, and actually put part of the neighbors project on my property. Workers do not speak English and when I asked about the company licensing, paperwork and permits, one of the workers threatened and attempted to intimidate me. The owner claimed he didn't know what a property marker was, that he was authorized to dig without permission, and that he was a partner of [redacted] We had to call the Wake County Sheriff to nearly break up a fight between this company and [redacted] because they kept moving and attempting to cut the lines once they were fixed. They were repeatedly asked not to touch or bury the line (which they did anyway) and to keep the project, their materials, and waste off our property (which they did not) and they left the job-site a mess filled with trash and left our yard full of mud, holes, and debris. The curb appeal is terrible! What was even worse was seeing the overweight owner working shirtless with his 5-year old in tow on a 100+ degree day. Never have I experienced such mistreatment!! They cut corners everywhere possible and I would recommend avoiding this local, uninsured, unlicensed, and un-bonded company.","neg-1

On 14 October, I enter a contract agreement with Daugherty 9 yards for a side drive way and patio slab with footers. Paid for 17 yards they poured 8On 14 October 2013, I requested a quote for a concert slab with footers and a side driveway from Daugherty Concrete. Daugherty Concrete measured the patio Slab at 28 ft x 12 ft = 336 sqft and the side driveway at 40 ft x 10 ft = 400 sqft. Plus, a small sideway measuring a 14 ft x 4 =56 sqft. The total performance work statement was 792 sqft. Daugherty concrete stated the whole job would cost $22000 using 9 yards of concrete. Once the purchase order was signed, I paid Daugherty Concrete $1,000.00 downpayment for the job. On 18 October, Daugherty Concrete failed to show up for the performance of pouring the concrete. I took a day off of my job for no reason, only to learn Daugherty Concrete changed the concrete pouring date to the 21st of October 2013.However, Daugherty concrete came to my home for the amount to pay the concrete company. [redacted] Corporation stating he was required to pay the concrete company is cash. On 18 October, I wrote a second check to [redacted] the administrative representative for Daugherty concrete. The second check was for $1,000.00. And I would pay the remaining balance of $200.00 for the job completion. On 21 October, I had to work and my wife wrote a third check for the concrete not for the balance of $200.00 but for the concrete that I already paid for to Daugherty concrete. Daugherty concrete used defective pricing practices to decieve my wife to pay for the concrete twice stating they need 8 extra yards of concrete for my slab and drive way.Daugherty never used extra concrete for my two jobs.[redacted] Concrete did not use the 9 yards of concrete promised in the purchase order causing my slab and drive way not being poured for the correct thickness. Prior to the concrete pour I measured the foundation for 4 inch on my home. Daugherty Concrete only used 8 yards of concrete for the both jobs. One truck was 5 yards and the other truck was 3 yards from [redacted] Corporaton. On 25 October, I called the Concrete company to verify the receipt and only 8 yards was poured.Daugherty overcharged me by $973,70.I will need to redue the slap in the back yard for $1,000.00.Desired SettlementI am requesting a refund of $1,000.00 plus the $1,000.00 to get the slap corrected and replaced by a different contractor in the back yard for a Total of $2,000.00.

During completion of the project, Daugherty dumped waste concrete and sod in a protected area behind our property.During the installation of the concrete patio we indicated several times that the hill behind our home was not our property and they should not throw items into that area. Following the installation, we found that several wheelbarrows of waste concrete was dumped in a protected area behind our home. This dumping exposes us to fines from our HOA. We were assured by [redacted] that her father would return to clean up this mess. Following several phone calls and emails, no one has returned to correct this issue. The project was completed on April 2nd, and we were assured by email on April 14th that this issue would be resolved. Followup emails on April 21st, April 28th and May 12th have received no response.Desired SettlementDaugherty concrete should return and remove the waste concrete they left in the area behind our home.
