Less than a one star rating! Can you say CON Artist?
Dave Brown lied. I know now his intent was to con me. Period. I had no idea he was calling his company "Dave Brown Construction & Electric". All his invoices & contract said "DB Construction." (preventing me from checking him out BEFORE hiring him. He strung me along from August 2019 to February 2020 and tore up my 2 properties. please write me for photos to see the aftermath of his devastation. He took $31000 from me Lied continually about not being able to get sub-contractors in to perform their work & all kinds of lies about having headaches & deaths & uncooperative subs In November 2019 we had words. I said (after waiting August-September-October and November.) You're effing up my life. My house is torn up. I need these jobs finished! He finally bought thee permit he said he got in September...The permit was dated Nov 24th. He finally had a sub come in & tear up my yard & then left the trenches until they were unusable causing me to need several thousands of dollars to get them re-worked.
A 2nd simultaneous roof job. he tore off the roof and left it sit for MONTHS costing me more money in damage & utilities. After months of telling me he couldn't get the roof finished due to migraines & deaths in the family. He even used the excuse he finally got time in a Nashville recording studio & he HAD TO take it. He's going to be a star! (gag}

He finally told me he could not finish the job UNLESS I gave him more money. He got away with $31000 (yes 31 THOUSAND dollars) HE is a CON & deserves to be in prison! All his invoices said "DB Construction Smithville MO" He had me make out all my checks to "Dave Brown" NOT a company name. Clue#1 he was a Con...But, I did not catch on. As of May15, 2020 hr has not returned ANY of my $31000. He has no remorse for taking advantage of a senior consumer, single mother of 2 teens going through cancer treatment at the time. He saw how sick I was and went in for the kill. He needs to be stopped! I've filed complaints at the MO Attorney General & the BBB. These actions are not resolved yet. I also discovered several lawsuits that he was judged against. He offered to return partial money but 8 months later has NOT returned a penny. $31,000 ... He got me good. Beware my online friends. Here is the bottom line in this dispute as I see itMr [redacted] did in fact vandalize my homeI have video of him doing soI have texts and letters written by Mr [redacted] apologizing for doing the vandalism and saying that his "meds" usually keep him in checkI felt bad for him because he seemed to be truly sorry so I agreed to refund his money and not prosecute him only with the stipulation that he never harrass my family or come to my home again and that all damages he made be taken out of the refund amount after being repaired by outside contractors and after they were billed to meMr [redacted] agreed and thanked meI did not make all of the claims Mr [redacted] describes as he continues to misdirect and confuse the issueIn fact we had done the tear out, my mother became ill and I have texts from Mr [redacted] stating that "family is the important thing" and to take all the time I neededMy mother died and I recieve a call from Mr [redacted] with him cursing and screaming at me that he had hired someone else, my services were no longer required and demanding a refund in full "or else"Mr [redacted] by doing so breached our signed contractAll of the repairs have yet to be completed on my home for the damages he inflictedI for the sake of closure will agree to either of the following: I will refund Mr [redacted] the full amount of the contract then persue restitution for the damages through criminal prosecution ( which exceeds the amounts required for felony vandalism ) and filing a lawsuit for the labor costs of the tear out done under the contractOr he can abide by our agreement and after the roofing company gets done repairing the roof I will deduct the repair amounts from the refund and get a check or money order to himI will leave the choice up to Mr [redacted] and abide by it

While all of the information this customer gave is NOT accurate I do agree to give him a partial refundMy mother was hospitalized and passed away and I was busy getting her affairs in order and planning her service, the lumber we ordered that came in was sub par and full of knot holes ( we were
attempting to match old lumber on the deck because it was to be only a partial refloor project as agreed to in the original contract), among many other circumstancesWhat this customer fails to inform this bureau however is that he came to trespassed and vandalized my home and terrorized our yr old daughter beating on doors, entering a close portion of our home, and damaging the roof (earth contact home) and internet system. ( all of which is caught on camera and admitted to by customer in texts and a letter sent to my fiancé apologizing for his unexcusable actions )The customer agreed that he would wait for the internet provider to bill for repairs to the line, dish and roof and that that amount would be deducted from the refundThe billing was just received one week ago and the roof is yet to be repaired. I have been sick and trying to handle my mother's memorial service which was held on 1/24/I had not seen the bill until last night and will attend to this matter in the next few daysI am still as is my right considering pressing charges against Mr*** and some of the damages have not been repaired to the roof itselfCriminal charges against Mr*** have not yet been filed but are under considerationI regret that the Revdex.com has had to make time for this complaint and hope that in the future any complaintants will be more honest and forthcoming about their actions and roles in disputes

Gosh David Brown, You told ME your mom passed away 3 YEARS AGO when you were in the process of conning & scamming me. The dates for the review posted are the SAME DATES when you took MY $31,000 & tore up my properties. You have done NOTHING to return my money. Your actions are criminal.
