Review: I purchased a 2011 Chevy impala in June of 2015. The sales associate that I bought the car from said that it had just pulled onto the lot and it was a rental car. The sales associate told me that they were going to take it across the street and do a diagnostic check, put new brakes, rotors, and check out the tires. He also told me that I had a warranty until Dec. 2015. After I took that car home, I did not even have it long enough before I had to take it back to get an accelerator pedal replacement including trim insulator material, asked about the tires that I am constantly putting air into which nobody can give me an answer on why there were not new tires put on if they new that it was a rental car. I also had to take the car back recently to get new bolts that hold your radiator due to a loud clicking noise when I park and put my car in drive. When I went back this last time, I had to pay for the work that was done after being informed that my warranty was up in July in which that was when I purchased that car. This is not what the sales associate told me. I have contacted GM Corporation about this issue and was told that they have alot of complaints about warranties and car part issues. When talking to them about the tires, and informing them that I hydroplaned twice when it was raining with my six year old son in the back seat of the car, I still did not have response about why there was not new tires put on to keep having all these issues with a car that I just purchased. I do not pay 294.00 a month to have issues with a new car that is only a few months old.Desired Settlement: New tires, a complete diagnostic check, and a reason why I was lied to about my warranty being good until Dec. 2015, when it was up in July.

Review: I purchased a jeep Cherokee from [redacted] hallman Chevrolet on12-14-13 and I had to return the vehicle two days later for repairs. since that date I have had the vehicle serviced 3 additional times. one of the finance employees of the used car auto dealership and also the general manager were very rude and treated me as if the jeep breaking down was my fault and as long as I had a warranty and it can get serviced that I should be satisfied. the jeep completely died on me while I was on vacation for the holiday all the way in another state. before the jeep got serviced for the third time the general manager promised me if I had any further issues after they serviced it again that we would look into option two, which was another vehicle. well I had to bring it back and I told him that really wanted out of the vehicle because this was too much early on and I didn't feel safe. he told me it was nothing he could do, and that I could speak to the finance agent again to see if he could help me. I then asked him why would he say something that he had no intentions on honoring. at that point he told me that I was annoying him and that he couldn't help me any further. I reached out to [redacted] Hallman himself but only got a voicemail twice, and never a returned voicemail.I've had issues with the break system, with the four wheel drive system, with the sensors on the tires. I got a flat tire and had to be towed. the check engine light was on. at one point it felt like the tires were going to come completely off the car and when I let one of the service men take it for a ride to see what I was talking about he told me it felt like a wheel behring, but when they serviced it they said some sensors made it feel like that. I took it in to get serviced on 1-6-14 because a check engine light and wheel pressure lights were coming on. when they went to service it they said the service engine light wasn't on and that they just had to fix another sensor on one of the tires.Desired Settlement: after I had to get the jeep serviced the first two times I asked them to put me in another vehicle because this one was not reliable and I didn't want to make payments on a vehicle that would be getting serviced every other week. I have two jobs and four children and I need reliable transportation. they treated me horrible and didn't follow through with anything they said they would do. I would like another vehicle, but I would prefer not to deal with [redacted] hallman at all.

Review: We were told by a member of ours when they were looking for a vehicle at Dave Hallman Chevrolet, the salesman told them they could not do anything or help this member on their trade. The salesman suggested to the member to turn their vehicle in to the credit union and as long as it did not hit their credit report, they could get them into a newer vehicle that same day. I would like to know if this is Dave Hallman's way of doing business? Is this your strategy? It certainly is an odd business practice and it appears that your sales personnel are trying to make a sale with evading proper Credit Reporting of their customers.Desired Settlement: I tried to contact the Sales Manager [redacted] - however he has not returned my call. I would like a written letter explaining to me that they will look into this with their sales personnel.

Response:

See Attached File

It is never the practice of Dave Hallman Chevrolet to “evade proper Credit Reporting” of our customers, nor is it common for us to be unable to accept a trade-in due to the amount of the pay off, although it does happen occasionally.

I did return Ms. Heiser’s phone call, leaving her a voicemail and called her three times subsequently. On each of these attempts the call was taken by her voicemail.

Review: I test drove a Chevey Malibu and liked it, but The Dealer did not have a Chevey Malibu with a spare tire or fog lights. The sales man said, we can get that exact car in with the spare tire and fog lights added. To Clairify, I asked him "everything electronical and trim will be the same, nothing will change except for adding spare tire and fog lights" the answer was "yes that is correct". At this point we go in the Dealership were the back and forth starts.the end result was. I would be trading my 2012 4x4 Ram 1500 plus they would pay me ,$2,700 for the value difference, for the Malabu they would be bringing in from another dealer in New York, claim the salesman made was they had at least 3 of them, with the same features plus tire and fog lights. They required me to leave my truck title or they would not get the other car ( so in good faith, I left the title) This was all on a Saturday. The following Monday was a bunch of calls, from the salesman, not knowing if they could the car from New York, I told him that was fine I would be there after work to get my truck title, I only wanted to purchase the exact same car with the added features. After about 4 more crazy calls from him, he could get the car and it would be there Tuesday.Tuesday after work, about 6 pm I got to the dealership, at first look the car is the same with the lights and tire added. I asked the salesman point blank " Are all the electornical features in this car the same as the one I test drove? or do we need to go down a check list?" his answer "I gauranty they are the same." the paperwork was completed and I drove it home. Wed I drove it to work and realised that there was not a BACK-UP Camara, this was on the car I test drove and is electronical.Wed I called the salesman and said this is not the car I wanted the Camara is missing (at this point I had only put 10 mile on the car) I would like my truck back. I was told that the camara could be added for $2,500 and that Hallman's doesn't honor the 3 day return on deals.Desired Settlement: I would like the car I asked for at no additional cost to me, or I want the $2,500 cash value of the camara.

We have resolved, to everyone’s satisfaction, the complaint filed by [redacted] concerning her 2013 Chevy Malibu purchased here July of this year. There was a misunderstanding about the equipment content of her vehicle versus one she had originally seen here on our lot. As a result we have made a one time good will payment to her in the amount of $1,175.00 and her acknowledgement is enclosed. [redacted] Chevrolet, Inc

Response:

I feel Hallman's and GM offered the payoff to make me go away.

Hallman's had found the correct car and should have swapped me into it. However what they wanted me to do was a Trade, by doing a New Deal as if I just walked in the door and use the incorrect Malibu, purchased for $25,900 and only driven 60 days, Hallman's offer was to discount the incorrect car by $8,000 against the correct car wanting me to give them an additional $4,800 to get the car I should have had on day one. What they offered was a Malibu at $26,900 less a trade value of $18,000 for the incorrect Malibu, less the $2,500 dealer discount. With an offer like that, it is clear to me they do not care about customer service, they just wanted to be able to tell the Revdex.com that they resolved it.

I still do not have the Malibu I made the deal for, I would not recommend Hallman's or GM products to anyone. In the future, I will not bother them with my business.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: Purchased vehicle in January of 2014 used. They told me it was sold "as is" when my contract states one month warranty. So this vehicle was not sold "as is" as they keep telling me it was. On the day the vehicle was purchased the heater did not work and the ABS and BRAKE light was on. They charged me a $100 for a used brake control module which is a very critical component in which I did not know at the time until this component failed again causing loss of Brakes. This vehicle should not have been sold to me or anyone knowing this problem and if they could not fix the problem with a new or rebuilt component. As for the heat they flushed heater core causing it to leak a few months later instead of fixing the problem soon purchasing it.Desired Settlement: I think I should be able to purchase a new component and be reimbursed for the part knowing now how important this part is and its intended function. Part is easy to replace and prefer to do it myself or have someone else do it as I don't trust this dealerships practice anymore.
