Dave Miner Exterior Home Improvements Reviews (1)

Contractor reneged on manufacturer's $250.00 new roofing rebate.New roof completed on [redacted] and contractor was paid in full on that date. Repeated calls to [redacted] remain fruitless in obtaining rebate information.Desired SettlementEither complete, valid manufacturer's rebate information or a refund of $250.00 for false claims.Business Response In regards to Mr. [redacted]'s complaint about reneging on the manufacturers $250.00 new roof rebate and our fruitless efforts in obtaining rebate information for him, I respectively request this complaint to be removed completely due to it not being a valid complaint based on the following facts. We know that Mr. [redacted] has access to a computer because he filed this complaint. Our company informed Mr. [redacted] on a Roof For Troops program sponsored by GAF for active and retired military personal, not a new roof rebate and that he would need to obtain on line and fill out the rebate form providing he could prove military service. In good faith as a reputable company, we matched the $250.00 rebate amount for his service and deducted it from his final bill without having him prove service. I agree Mr. [redacted] contacted me twice regarding the GAF rebate. On the second occasion, I advised him to contact our main office if he needed help, so that my wife could make sure he had the proper information to fill out his rebate form. I also told him that he needed to receive the Golden Pledge warranty information from GAF in order to fill out the rebate. Every customer that we sell a Golden Pledge Warranty to, we inform that there could be possibly up to a six month wait for their warranty.I feel that Mr. [redacted] is jeopardizing the integrity of my company by making a complaint, when the rebate is issued by GAF. He should have contacted GAF.Knowing the Mr. [redacted] was having difficulty finding rebate info, I had my office go out of their way, print a GAF Roof For Troops rebate information sheet, print a copy of the rebate form that was filled in with all information he would need and a copy of his posted GAF warranty so that he could expedite his rebate before his house was even inspected by GAF for his Golden Pledge warranty. In closing, I request again that this complaint be completely removed and not listed as settled or resolved because we did not renege on anything or provide false information. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I had no reason to contact GAF concerning the rebate, they were not the problem and I did not need their help. Also, I didn't have difficulty finding the rebate info online, but I did have difficulty GETTING the rebate info. There may be a six month wait for the warranty itself but the warranty number, contractor number, and related documents are all needed from the installer to be mailed with the rebate claim form. And, GAF requires that all rebate documentation be received within 8 weeks of the installation date. Early on I was told by Mr. [redacted] that all the required information would be mailed to me. I expected that to be done in a timely manner. It was sent to me just under the 8 weeks to be able to request the rebate, and that happened after I contacted the Revdex.com. This complaint would never have happened if the mailing I received from Mr. [redacted]'s office on [redacted] containing the rebate information was sent in July. A couple of times I did call his office and a couple more to his cell phone both resulting in voicemail. I did leave messages on his cell phone. In closing, a contractor should never have to "go out of his way" to provide good customer service. The Revdex.com may remove this complaint without prejudice. Thank-you for your assistance in this matter.
