Dave Preston's Garage Reviews (2)

December 29, 2016I drove my car quite a distance to Dave's Auto Shop with no problems and left keys for him to drive my car.  So, there was no reason for him to push my car anywhere as he alleges I never had a problem with my gaskets on my car until he put his hands on it.  He never called me about any blown gasket or a tow truck.  I had to keep calling him with no return calls from him.  In his own words he said he would tow the car to my home when he was done with repairs.  I said no because I wanted to test drive my car myself.  He said ok.  But then he wouldn't tow car back to shop after it broke down once I left the shop, right after he claimed he fixed it.  In his own works he said he had "test drove the car and he burned rubber in all 3 gears." If he didn't know what he was doing he shouldn't have accepted my car for repairs.  All I needed was my cam shaft repaired, no more or less.  There is no way I could have driven my car to his shop with a blown head gaskets in the hot weather.  Also, I couldn't have driven anywhere with a broken fan blade in my radiator as he alleges a broken fan blade had gone through the radiator.  I have been catching the train to and from work since he messed up my car.  He never fixed my air conditioner and looked right in my eyes claiming he fixed it after I tried to get it to work right in his shop with no success. Yes, he did put my head lights in for free.  As much money as he tried to cheat me out of he should have put them in for free.  If he asked for payment for the headlights I would have paid him for them.  He blew up my motor and tried to charge it back to me.  He knew what he did wrong.  I want all my money back and I will find someone else to fix my car correctly.  Please help me out in this matter.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. In his own words he asked "What can I do to make it right?"  If he did no wrong what is there to make right?  Thanking you in advance for your attention to this matter.  I asked for all my car parts he claimed he replaced and he failed to return them to me.  Sincerely,

Dear Revdex.com Representive,My name is Dave Preston owner of Preston's Garage and Performance for 40 plus year in Bucks County. This is the first Revdex.com complaint we have ever had since being in business.[redacted] called to get a price to install a camshaft in his 1989 [redacted]. **...

[redacted] wanted his cam upgraded to have a little more power. I recommend a [redacted] Motor sport 303 roller cam. I quoted [redacted] an estimate around $1,500.00 parts and labor just to install camshaft and lifters with all related parts. [redacted] dropped his vehicle off when we were closed. We had to push vehicle into our shop, we noticed there was a broken lifter in the center console. Mechanic started on job, we had to remove radiator, ac condenser, cooling fan to replace camshaft. My mechanic working on vehicle told my service writer George that the fan was broken it looked like it hit the radiator, clutch fan was bad, radiator was damaged from fan and the a/c condenser was clogged up with debris. George the service writer called [redacted] and informed him of the damaged parts that we had taken off. [redacted] said to replace parts needed and he said air condition did not work to make sure it works for him. After camshaft was installed car would not start. We checked fuel pressure and vehicle had no fuel pressure, vehicle needs 45 psi to run. George the service writer called [redacted] and let him know fuel pump was bad and needed to be replaced. [redacted] authorized fuel pump to be replaced. Once fuel pump was replaced vehicle started up. Once engine was running there was a tapping noise in the valve train sometimes lifters are noisy for awhile until they are driven. [redacted] picked up his vehicle and paid his bill. [redacted] came back shortly after he picked up vehicle and said that his vehicle was not running right. I told him that was sorry, leave vehicle here and we will check it out and call him to let him know what is wrong. We checked the vehicle out and found vehicle to have a blown head gasket between #5 and #6 cylinder. I took a picture of head gasket. We removed both heads from vehicle, Lapped ever valve in head, installed heads back on vehicle with all related parts needed. The tapping noise was still there. installed,030 longer pushrods in engine the 303 cam has a smaller base circle then the stock cam and that stopped the tapping noise. (did not know that the base circle was smaller until I did research). We also replaced a/c clutch plate. When finished vehicle ran good. a/c worked but only came out one duct due to vacuum routing in vehicle. Had nothing to do with our repairs. also installed aftermarket headlights for [redacted] that he wanted installed. When [redacted] came to pick up vehicle he refused to pay invoice of $1,088.22 for Services. asked [redacted] what will make you happy He said "he did not want to pay bill" and replied "Ok will absorb cost of repair if that will make you happy". Preston's Garage cannot be any more fair then that! We take pride in our work and customersatisfaction is our number one priority. Two days after [redacted] had his vehicle he called the shop and spoke with George and he told George his vehicle was running great [redacted] called back and said there was a problem with his vehicle. Preston's Garage does not have a tow truck, we use a local towing company. When [redacted]s vehicle was not picked up [redacted] called and George the service writer told [redacted] that the towing company's truck was down for repairs to have someone tow his vehicle from his area and we will gladly check vehicle over. Never received vehicle or received a call back. On November 11th my service writer George received a text message on his phone asking did we pick up his vehicle that he reported it stolen. On November 14th [redacted] texted that he found his vehicle, that it was towed by accident and that was the last we heard from [redacted].I Feel that we did everything Possible to alleviate [redacted] concerns.I received the first letter from Revdex.com on Dec 6th, Second letter on Dec 14th. I called Revdex.com on 12/15/16 hoping to speak with [redacted] and her mailbox was full. was never emailed by Revdex.com. Please feel free to contact me at ###-###-#### and my email is bikeCrazy630 Verizon.netBest Regards,Dave PPreston's Garage Preston's Garage[redacted]Hulmevile, Pa [redacted]###-###-####www.prestonsgarage.com
