Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I agreed to 4300$ of repair work to my crank case and my crank case is not repairedMy engine was torn down which I did not authorizeI authorized my engine to be pulled, the crankcase to be repaired and the engine to be installedDave includes clips of conversations but does not include the first conversation between him and I the day before I gave a 2000$ deposit for the repair work on my crank caseIn this conversation is when I am told the 4300$ for pulling and installation of engine for 3300$ and 1000$ for the repair of the crank caseThis is what I put a deposit of 2000$ forWhy would I pay Dave 2000$ to tear apart my engine and make no repairs and leave my car in worse condition than when it showed up? My mechanic had me buy a used engine due to the cost and time it would take to put mine back together, and he is currently installing itHe will have a report for me in the next couple days that confirms there was no repair work done to my crank caseI will fax or mail at that time Sincerely, [redacted]

the customers invoice # *** see attachment has our notes of the grime and mess of the fluid leakswe repaired the largest one being the power steering pump and high presure linethe car has miles on it and is years oldhe returned invoice #*** and we reinspected our work and
the rack and pinion is also leakingwe advised him and showed him this is another leak that is not related to the work we performedPlease advise customer that the car being so old can have multiple places and different components that can leakif any of our work is a problem please see our warranty statement and we will be happy to honor itthanks

I am rejecting this response because: Talked with Miles and Dave July 17, and was told they would install the rack for $ This was after a $discount on labor I feel Daves auto accepts No responsibity for fixing the problem for which I brought the problem in the first time, and there offer is an attempt to profit off of their negligence At this point I feel that any discussion to remedy this situation is mute, and and my best option for now and ALL future auto repairs be done at a different auto repair shop I would encourage others to be cautious in when dealing with Dave's auto

This customer authorized all work done and performed by us before any work was startedshe has contacted the division of consumer protection and her credit card company and both entities have declined her requesta government office and her own credit card company have decided that we did nothing wrongwe respectfully request you close this matter and fine in favor of us or set for a trialwe are confident with the findings of these agencies, finding no fault on our part and or wrong doing and invite any and all further investigation to resolve this matterthank you

we have offered to replace his steering gear at a discounted rate over what he could get it done anywhere else, and it has not been disputed that his car with 177k miles on it has a steering gear that is bad not because of our work, but because it is wore out and damaged from being run low on power steering fluid, that was leaking from the pump that was replacedWe again would encourage the customer to get his best parts and labor quote and we will beat it there by showing the customer we are not trying to profit from his old carRegards Dave

we have contacted the customer today and have asked the customer to get a copy of the dealer diagnose to ushe stated he will and get back to mewe will do our best to resolve thisthanks Dave

Although still quite upset about the entire situation dealing with the owner, I have to give credit where credit is due. The office manager is much easier to deal with and made an effort to refund the most recent $I was charged. If the business were in his hands instead of the owner, I would expect much better experiences from customers.

We have determined that the head gasket failed and are warranting the part and laborhave contacted the customer and explained to them the issue and told him no charge for repairscar will be done todaythanks for your help in thisregards Dave
