Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2016/10/18) */ I have recieved the letter today from *** [redacted] was to the office on October 11, 2016, he had explained that the service he was receiving was poor and that it had been an on going issueI read through notes on his file and seen that a credit was suppose to be issued - to which I immediatly suspended paymentsUnfortunatley October payment had already been paid, so we agreed that November would stand as the credit he was owed and no payment would be takenCustomer agreed that this was satisfactory and would accept the month credit One of the main reasons that the customer is having repeated issues with his Internet is because of the area he is in [redacted] was in the office again today, October 18, and our technician checked his line [redacted] is paying for a service that we offer, which is [redacted] for up to mbpsAs per our technician, we will continue to check the network connection and monitor the service We will continue to reimburse for days that service is completly lost, however customer must inform us when the service is down

*** requested a site survey from Island Telecom to determine if he would be in a service area
*** refused to allow installers to place the radio in the appropriate location to allow for a quality level of service
The
installers could not guarantee a quality level of service due to the demands of *** to not place the radio in the appropriate location
*** advised the company that he wanted the equipment picked up
The installer arrived at the customer location, found that *** was not there to meet him, and disconnected a radio which was IDENTICAL to the model used by the company
The installer followed the instructions to pick up the radio as directed by ***
At no time did *** inform the company or meet the installer to advise that he had another, identical radio on his property
Later *** called the company and advised that the radio that had been removed was used for his home security system cameras, and the company returned the item or items in question
The company offered to re-install the item at no cost to ***, but he refused
*** was advised that under Section of the company Subscription Agreement Terms and Conditions, the company is not responsible for the installation or removal of services, in addition to the general maintenance of hardware, equipment and facilities of the customer's site
The company also advised *** that its liability, if any, was limited to the amount paid by ***, which was zero, and estimated the cost to reinstall the radio at $*** or less

Since the company offered several times to re-install the radio at no cost as a matter of goodwill, and *** refused, the company has no further interest in this matter

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Island Telecom's site survey determined that their services would work at my cottage by the first technician that was sent to my cottage***
A second technician came to install a supposedly newer, more powerful receiver in the same location that the original one was installedThis technician was at my cottage twice while I was present, and he could not get the system to work***
I did ask that the equipment be removed; however, I was never provided a date and time to meet yet another Island Telecom employee to remove their equipmentAs I stated in my original complaint, Island Telecom's equipment was positioned in the front of my cottage facing ***, the only location that it could possibly workThe equipment that was removed, in error, was at the rear of my cottage, and in no way resembled Island Telecom's equipment it was not IDENTICAL, so it could not possibly be confused by their third technician as equipment that belonged to them, for the obvious reasons stated here
In my original complaint, I submitted a copy of the invoice from ***, that I paid, to have their equipment properly reinstalled*** ***' *** I was not willing to have any of Island Telecom's representatives on my property given their past performance and their inability to show any continuity of professional technical personnel able to address their equipment, let alone another company's product
For the above reasons I believe that I took the appropriate actions to minimize any further damage that possibly could have occurred by continuing to engage this companyThe arbitrary $*** cost to reinstall ***' provided by Island Telecom's owner was obviously nowhere near the true cost of the reinstall expense
