In August When Ms [redacted] brought her boat down we gave her a disclaimer that because she did not have an appointment and because of the year of the boat which we were told when we first spoke on the phone was a (1980) and the motor which we discovered when it was brought to our shop is actually a (1957) that we would have to first take care of customers with prior appointments, some made months in advancedBecause of the year of her motor a majority of the parts are NLA (NO LONGER AVAILABLE) There is no warranty or return on NLA parts as explained in the contract she signedAlso because the motor (1967) does not match the boat (1980) AND the lower unit which was heavily corroded does not match the motor it was particularly difficult matching the correct parts without accurate serial numbers or visible non corroded part numbersAs she needed many small shims, seals, and gearsBecause of individual shipping from third party sellers, mostly out of state, the (Used and New) parts did take longer than usual for our shop to receive, we did apologize although that is out of our control and that was discussed and reiterated multiple timesWe promptly offered for her to pick up her boat when she expressed that she was unsatisfied with how long the repairs she agreed apon, were takingShe insisted that we continue to complete the workWe completed the work on her motor as well as a small trailer job, got her boat shifting and running greatWe do have a video of her boat impeccably pumping water with a new impeller also attached is photos of the customer's invoices with the list of completed work and parts usedWith unfortunately the exception made with her boat on her request, we did not and do not work on boats older than because of the lack of availability on the parts and general state of despair the motors are usually in, we are also unable to bring her boat back in for any services immediately, as she is requesting, due to our appointment book being full for the next months, also because of the NLA parts (Used and New) her motor repairs we preformed are void of warranty, and again we do apologize for that inconvenience but it was explained and signed off on with her own handshe did not seem to have any grievances when she saw her boat run, when she left with her boat, and her old parts, including her old impeller kitWe took the time to save and show her, her old parts in a box which she took home

I am rejecting this response because:This business is a fraudThe boat only ran time after the boat was repaired at Daves Marine. Even if the parts are new or used, for the amount of money I spent at this shop, I should be able to use my boat more than one time. These type of shops are hard to come by and this owner takes advantage of that because he knows the customer is at his mercy once the boat is in his possessionMy boat is in the same exact condition as it was before I brought it into this shop to be repairedI recently took my boat to another boat repair shop and discovered after opening up the motor that Dave's Marine charged and claimed to have replaced a water pump and he did notWhile he relies heavily on the "*** didn't have an appointment", I called him before dropping my boat off and he indicated it was fine since he only had one boat in front of mineAfter seeing the scope of work that my boat would require, he started with all kinds of excuses of why the boat couldn't be finished in a timely mannerFurthermore, he provided to me incorrect part numbers that I ordered on ebay myself and never reimbursed me for the expedited shipping to his shop or the return freight on the parts he gave me the wrong numbersWhy would a customer have to order parts when they count on the repair professionals to do this? Afterall, isn't this what I'm paying for? This shop did not want to do the research nor did they want to do the work correctlyI was falsely charged for parts that were never replacedThis case is also going to small claims court in JuneBecause I was a female and did not know any better, he preyed on thatThis shop needs to be shut downHe puts peoples' lives in danger by not properly fixing boats!
