Dave's Auto Care Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am not satisfied with Pilot’s response because it is not true.Towards the beginning of their comment it is stated that (the morning off 9/26/16)  “It was at this time the [redacted] opened up about is disagreements with the managing agent and the pest control company.”  This was NOT the first time I brought up the termite issues. On 8/15/16 I sent an email to [redacted] (the body of the letter is attached) that was also copied to [redacted] Management and the Structural Pest Control Board in which I set forth my reasoning for the inspection:“Another purpose of this letter is to state my request that Pilot Painting and Construction remove the siding and open the walls surrounding my atrium and the southerly wall exterior to our bathrooms.  Ideally, the Board of Directors will allow a highly qualified inspector (ideally from another company) to examine the structural members in both areas and also repair and/or replace such members if needed. This letter from me was followed up by another letter dated 8/25/16 (attached) to the above parties in which I provided even more support for faulty termite inspections that allowed termites to remain in my walls without treatment for well over a year.None of the parties bothered to reply the two letters above, so I sent a 3rd letter (attached) on 8/27/16 in which I asked [redacted] a specific question.  Again-I received no reply. After these three letters, why should [redacted] seem surprised that I wanted a termite inspector to look for damage while the siding was off?  Their reply also did not answer all of the questions listed in my complaint e.g. “Why was my request (on 3 different occasions) to have a termite inspector there while the siding was removed denied?”On 9/26/16 I sent an email to [redacted] asking why the need to start my wood repairs so soon, and I stated “My main concern is stud damage from termites over the years of neglect.  It would have been great to have had a real termite inspector look at the studs while the sheathing is off to find the extent of damage.  Any chance I could have such a person look at the exposed studs while the sheathing is off?"Initially I was told by the crew that I could look for damage when they broke for lunch at 11:00 am, but when I went out I found that they had already replaced the siding in the areas that needed to be looked at.  So their statement that “we accommodated this request and indeed indeed he was able to view these areas” is simply not true, as was the statement that “We commenced the completion of our repairs only after [redacted] was able to access the open area.”  Finally, nobody “followed up with [redacted] to ensure that he was satisfied his repairs were completed to his satisfaction to which he stated yes.”In fact, their wood repairs have not been completed.  I still have termite damaged wood in my utility closet which they said they would repair “later.”

First, we do not have any agreement or contract with [redacted] He is a resident of the HOA we were hired by.

The events that occurred from our perspective is the following.  We were contacted by the managing agent with the following statement on 09/21/2016, Re:[redacted] “Can...

you please let me know if you can start on this home ahead of schedule? The owner complained to one of the State Boards about the condition of the lumber and filed a complaint against the HOA pest control vendor.”  We agreed to this request that we would place a notice for these repairs to commence the following Monday 09/26/16.  The notice was placed that day; as a practice we provide the date we will be starting not the date we posted.
We received a call from the [redacted] the morning of 09/26 and he asked why we were working on his unit ahead of schedule, he was informed we were requested to move his unit up at his request due to complaints.   It was at this time the [redacted] opened up about is disagreements with the managing agent and the pest control company.  We explained to him that we had no control over the managing or pest control services that we were under contract to provide repair and painting services only.
We empathized but encouraged him to follow up with those parties as we were following protocol per our contract.  [redacted] then requested that we leave the siding off so he could do a visual inspection to the underlying framing and structure, we accommodated this request and indeed he was able to view these areas.
We commenced the completion of our repairs only after [redacted] was able to access the open area.  Lastly, we followed up with [redacted] to ensure he was satisfied his repairs were completed to his satisfaction to which he stated yes.  The only thing [redacted] was denied from Pilot Painting, [redacted], or the site crew leader [redacted] was the ability to utilize our ladders for inspection, we requested he use his own for liability reasons; he complied.

Please let us know if you need any further information or clarifications,
