Dave's Professional Landscaping Reviews (2)

[redacted] hired Dave's Professional Landscaping on 7/24/15 to remove and replace a 300 square foot retaining wall on both sides of his driveway. The work started on 7/27/15. The contract also included replacing 6, 3 foot wide steps and 6, 4 foot wide steps. The contract also specifically mentioned...

that we would install a 4 inch pvc pipe behind wall at 5 foot high heights. [redacted] refused to have pvc pipe placed behind the wall as it should be placed to drain off excessive water. He decided that he wanted it buried in the other direction. We did not charge [redacted] for this extra work of digging a 12" trench, 60 feet long and additional pipes. He also pointed out that the concrete step landing was off by 1 inch and so on 9-17-15 we returned demo out the step and replaced it on 9-18-15. [redacted] early in the project had a belligerent attitude and hung up on my partner Sharon as she tried to discuss some issues with him regarding the large boulders that were taken from his property as a result of excavating for the wall to be installed. [redacted] called to say that the drain was backing up water. I along with my partner Sharon B[redacted] stop by [redacted] house on 8-19-15 and checked the drain connection and also took a picture of a water test. We actually poured water in side of drain with water hose. No water backed up. We spoke with [redacted] and told him our findings. Told him we would have to return to look deeper in the the drain pipe, but explain that it was unlikely for water to backup 60 feet. We mentioned that he should check his gutters to make sure they were not clogged with leaves or birds nest etc. On 9-24-15 we told [redacted] by text that we would return the following week by 10-1-15 to look at the drain and dig up a portion to see if there were any clogged sections. He did not want to wait. [redacted] became very abusive in his speech using lots of profanity, and insisting that he would get it fixed. We never agreed to any reimbursement because [redacted] did not pay for the additional labor or material to install the drain along side the back of house. We were more than willing to work with [redacted], but his nasty and highly abusive attitude and speech made it very difficult. He decided that he did not want to wait a few more days for us to check out the problem and he decided he would get his gutter person to look at it. It is our assumption that [redacted] did not want to pay the $15,000 he spent for this project, and now is trying to get money back. Even though as he mentioned to us he received quotes for $18,000 and higher. We gave [redacted] a very good quality job and even more than he paid for. We gave him Sod grass replacement and seal coated his driveway as a complimentary service. We responded to all his calls and text until the day he became highly abusive.

Review: The contractor has failed to complete work that he has been contracted to do, and has been paid in full for his services.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $700 for his failure to complete the work properly and in a timely manner

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:The work that the contractor was hired to do has not been completed and they have made no attempt to resolve the issue that they created by not doing the job properly.
