Dave's Tow-A-Way, Inc Reviews (2)
This business is a predatory scourge! They charged me $220 for towing my vehicle less than 30 minutes after I parked in a lot that had recently been changed to a permit only lot. The lot had been a public parking space for more than 20 years! THey are disgusting!","neg-1
On the afternoon of 3/29/2014, my car slid off the wet road and the tires became stuck in a muddy patch. I called[redacted] for a towing service. Daves Tow Away tow truck service (3632 Angier Ave. Durham, NC 27703) came and we decided to tow the car to an[redacted] service center in Durham. At the[redacted] service center, when the tow truck driver unloaded the car, he unhooked the hook from underneath the bumper, but did not move it out of the way. When the car was being unloaded, the hook and the chain caught the driver side of the front bumper from underneath and yanked the bumper partway off the car, damaging it. The tow truck driver acknowledged the wrong doing and then called his supervisor. He then told me he talked to his supervisor and that they would not charge for the tow and would take care of the damage they had caused. I asked the driver to write down everything he said and provide his and his supervisors information. He agreed and then walked to his truck. I thought he went to get a paper and pen, but instead he got in the truck and drove off. At the time, I happened to be on the phone with a[redacted] agent, and she told me that she recorded that the driver drove off without leaving me any contact information or written statement regarding the incident. On Monday morning 3/31/2014, I got a call from the tow service supervisor. He told me that he pushed the bumper back and asked me to take a look. I met him at the[redacted] service center. While he had pushed the bumper back onto the car, the damage to the bumper still remained. There was a still big dent in the bumper that the tow truck driver had caused. The supervisor said that because there was previous damage on the passenger side of the bumper, he would only pay for half of the replacement cost of the bumper. I told him I disagreed, because the previous damage he was referring to were only minor, superficial paint scratches. There was no structural damage, and I would not have wanted the bumper to be fixed/replaced had that been the onProduct_Or_Service:[redacted] Tow ServiceDesired SettlementI would like to be fully compensated for the damage that the Dave's Tow A Way caused to my vehicle.
