Da-vi nails has a pricing board that is posted with all the services offered and pricing for those services. I looked at the board and saw a Manicure & Pedicure package for $40. I pointed and mentioned the package and asked if they had an available appointment. They got me in almost immediately. Once my services were finished and I approached the counter to pay, I was told it would be $78. I was shocked and pointed to the sign and said the pricing states $40, to which they replied they charged me extra to take off my prior polish on my nails (this in every other salon is apart and assumed as apart of the service and was not mentioned anywhere on their pricing board) and additionally, she advised that the polish I chose was extra. At no time before or during was I advised they were going to charge more for any of this. I have been getting my nails done for 20 years now and never have I been charged more to take off polish or for a certain type of polish unless otherwise noted. Additionally, once I had finished my pedicure, which was my last service, they came over to prepare the station for the next person and just cleaned out the water basin (that you put your feet in) with [redacted]. Now, I don't know the health codes, but that just does not seem sanitary. I cringed!!Product_Or_Service: Manicure and pedicureDesired SettlementThe advertising for this company needs to clearly state all of the nickel and dime charges they will add to your service. I would like a refund for the difference, but really don't see that happening, so I would be satisfied with them correcting advertising so no one else is negatively impacted. I can only imagine, if I hadn't had the money. Additionally, I believe that the health inspector should investigate their current sanitation practices. Thank you for your time. Final Consumer Response The business owner met with me. He refunded the difference and apologized for the misinformation. He agreed that the pricing sign needed to be updated and said that it hasn't been updated in 6 years. He indicated that he would request a replacement sign and ensure that all of his employees advise clients before service if there will be any additional cost. I am satisfied with the resolution as my primary hope for an outcome would be to correct the false advertisement and he seems to be working on getting that resolved.
