I got a phone call from her, and she said the furnace would not kick off, it would continue to runWe sent a technician out from *** *** HVHC, there within daysHe tested the unit and everything seemed to be fine, but he said we needed to
replace the digital thermometerHe said nothing about the element being badShe called me a week later and said something was smelling weird when she turned it onSo we called the same technician and he said there shouldn't be anything wrong with it and shouldn't smell anything since its all electricSo I called her back and told her, but she didn't seem satisfiedSo we told her she could pick another company, *** Electric, they came out within a few daysMy son came out to meet with the company and they tested the furnaceAll they said was that it was a little dusty, but everything was working correctly*** was there and spoke with the company as wellA week later, she called and left a voicemail message saying she is running space heaters and she will not run the furnace because of the smell and she fears for her lifeShe said she almost had fires because of the space heatersHer friend *** *** called me on January 22, asking how we resolved this and I said we tried with two companies*** said she didn't smell anything eitherI told *** that when she starts to smell this smell, call us and we will come right over and check it outShe has never done thisThe phone number she gave me has been disconnected for weeksWe had another number and called it, and it was also disconnectedWe left a note on her door because we haven't been able to contact herI know she received the notes because she would call me back, but from a blocked number so we couldn't call her back

Two HVAC companies inspected the furnace and cleared itI offered to come to the home to inspect smellThe carpet was cleaned days before the tenant moved inThe home has passed inspection and can be validated with StLouis CountyWhen the county did inspection one GFI outlet needed to be replaced and was by an electrician, which was reinspected by the CountyThe County also required a new bathroom vent fan which was also replacedThere was an outlet in the bedroom that was passed by StLouis countyThe initial inspection was performed on a TuesdayFriday an electrician made repairs the following week and the County reinspected and passed the unitThe county was given a letter by the property management company that the washer and dryer are vented to the outside
Three times the tenant has asked to be released from the lease and we are happy to consider the requestHowever, we have asked for the request in writing, but the tenant has refused to provide it in writing
If StLouis County felt the property is hazardous they would have told her to moveThey have not done thatAll county inspections and correspondence in reference to this property is documented with St.Louis County
When the tenant called this weekend I reiterated that HVAC companies, one by her choice, said there was nothing wrong with the electrical furnace
