David Brinson Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Reviews (1)

I bought a new car from Brinson Ford in Athens, Texas. I wanted certain things on my 2016 Ford Explorer. We found the right one in the color I wanted but it was in Mesquite. No big deal since it was Saturday they could have it delivered by Tuesday. Tuesday I called to see where my car was. The salesman J[redacted] went to check and advised he would call me back. Several hours later I got a call back saying that I needed to pick a different color that Mesquite was not willing to trade B[redacted] for the vehicle I bought on Saturday. After thinking about it and talking it over with my family, I didn't feel I should have to pick another color or vehicle because they weren't willing to trade especially after all the paperwork was signed and I was awaiting my new car. After going back and forth with J[redacted] the salesman, trying to get clarification on why I couldn't get the color I was sold, I told him I wanted the white or I would come get my 2013 edge that I traded in. At this point it really didn't matter. He then advised me "Look you can go somewhere else cause its going to be the same thing she work hard to get you dont on that explorer if thats how yall want to be". (yes there are major typos, copying word for word via text message) I responded, "ok cool". He then came back with " you have gave me three options at first on color now its if I cant get white im out thats bs". I then called the sales manager B[redacted]. B[redacted] acted like he was unaware of the situation and would look into and he would call me back. I still have this day have not heard from B[redacted]. He asked me to ignore the messages from J[redacted] and asked if he could put me with a new salesman. I told him I didn't care at this point what he did I just wanted my white car that I had already signed papers on or I wanted my edge back. J[redacted] finally called me back hours later and told me they were able to get it from "the coast" and it would be here Wednesday. I asked to verify on our deal that it would have less than 300 miles, plus the "features" I wanted. They told me it would have everything. So Wednesday afternoon rolls around again I am the one calling to make sure they found a car and it was there. They reassured me they had picked it up and were on the way back with it. Around 4pm A[redacted] called and told me my car was there and asked if I wanted them to deliver it to me. I told her I had paper work I had to turn in on my trade and I didn't have any of my paperwork that I am supposed to pick up when I get my new car so I would just drive to Athens when I get off work. I then called J[redacted] to make sure all my paperwork would be ready and I could just come in and get everything and be on my way. He put me on hold, went to make sure and assured me it would all be ready. I walked into the dealership, J[redacted] was busy with another customer so they called another salesman to the floor. No one came. The receptionist then called the manager to the front. B[redacted] came after several minutes. I told him who I was and that I was there to pick up the car and get my paperwork. He walks away and comes back to tell me they mailed my paperwork yesterday. So I asked him, " I basically just wasted a drive over here" he advised me "I guess so". He then handed me the keys to my explorer. I verified again, it has everything on it that I wanted and bought. He advised "this car has everything on it you wanted". He handed my keys and walked away. He did come back to open the door for me, being I have a broken leg thru all this. I didn't even know which car was mine. He pointed in the vicinity and I used the key fob to hit unlock to see which one lit up. Never once did anyone walk me out to show me my new car. Never once did anyone shake my hand or thank me for my business. I was treated like I was a "problem" for wanting the car I was sold. I was actually referred by a friend to this dealership. They have yet to give her a referral fee and said they would "investigate it". Things could have been handled differently if they were properly explained and I wasn't made out to feel like it was "my problem". Overall, I only wanted the car I was sold and signed papers on.
