Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/10/24) */ Staying in compliance with HIPAA, I will attempt to answer this complaint to the best of my abilitiesI have never met ***, who is not a patient of mine, except in one encounter on the phone wherein he refused to allow me to have a direct conversation with his wife, who is my emergency patient of record after her one visit***'s wife came in on an emergency visit, we examined and diagnosed her condition in line with her chief complaint and she agreed to schedule a hygiene visit a couple days later rather than perform any definitive treatment as there was no need for immediate treatment at that timeThe discussion your wife and I had was neither illegal nor unprofessional, simply a discussion of treatment options with no decision to proceed in any direction except for a cleaningAt the close of the visit, I thought we had agreed to further discuss treatment options for her chief complaint at her cleaning visitSorry for the misunderstandingI have never spoken to my patient since the first visit as [redacted] refused to allow me toNow [redacted] is requesting a refund for professional services rendered to diagnose a chief complaintThe services charged for were delivered, a diagnosis was rendered, treatment options were discussed, apparently the patient has decided to seek treatment elsewhereWe are happy to provide a copy of any clinical record and radiographs with a signed release to your wifes' dentist of choice Final Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2016/11/01) */ Charge was refunded to credit card on 10/31/
