Company operates under the name Weathertight Systems, Inc. Weathertight purchased the roofing materials from supply house and a month and a half after I paid in full Weathertight in full, they still have not paid the supplier. This is a violation of Fl Statute 713.345, misappropriation of construction funds. Weathertight will not take my calls. I now face possibility of a lien on my home unless I pay the supplier for the materials which were already included in the cost of the roof.
This company does business as Weathertight Systems, Inc. The owner is Terry L. and the Estimator is John S. The estimator quoted me $5700 to replace my roof when he came out and measured. The price was close to other estimates, but he said they could start in one wee so I hired them and gave them the initial payment of $1425. They showed up on the promised date and removed the old shingles from half the roof. They called me that afternoon saying the roof would be dried in tomorrow so they asked if I would give them the second payment of $2850 plus $930 to replace all the bad wood. All seemd to be going ok so I gave them the $3780 that was due upon try in package being complete. . Then they disappeared for 3 weeks. They showed up for another half day and removed the shingles on one side of the house but not the flat roof portion so we are still not dried in, and they have not replaced the bad wood but they are still holding my money. We are going on week 8 and my roof is sitting there, with only some tar paper on it. There is water damage to the inside of the house which they said they would take care of but so far what they say doesn't happen. I called and called and they would not respond. Terry even has his cell phone set up to not accept voice mails.and he will not answer his cell phone. The person that answers the phone doesn't have any andwers, he just says he will "have Terry call me" yea, right... I have gotten 1 call from Terry where he said my paperwork got lost and that he though the job was done. He said they would get to it and finish by Friday. . (same thing the estimator told me 3-4 times already) Eventually, I have been able to reach Terry by persistently calling. He promised it would get by Friday. That was over 2 weeks ago. They are not calling back or showing up. Last week (7 weeks after they were supposed to have finished) the estimator called me and said that he estimated wrong and that if I paid more money they would come and finish. So now I'm going to have to get an attorney to help me get my money back and get a responsible roofer. I would advise everybody to avoid doing business with this company.
