I was completely ripped off by David Hatcher On Friday, January 13, I entered into a contract with him to refinish my hardwood floors and gave him a deposit check for half the value of the work He said he would start work on Sunday, January and did not show up to begin the job I called him every day the following week, but he did not answer my calls I received a voicemail from him on Friday, January saying he would begin the work on Saturday, January He was a no show again on the 21, and has yet to answer or return any of my calls

Review: Hired to put 2,000 square foot of hardwood flooring throughout my house to include the stairs. Job was supposed to be started on a Monday and completed on a Friday. Did not show up the first day due to transportation issues. Work was instead performed Tuesday through Saturday. Stayed until 10PM on Saturday trying to complete the job, but was rushing to get it done and I know I didn't get his best effort. Did no clean up or walk through at the end of the night, but stated he would come back to take care of the stairway where he had pulled molding off two of the walls and take care of some other small issues. While cleaning up the following morning,I noted the stairs were very visibly marred with nails, some not in all the way, others splintering the wood. He came out the following Saturday and nailed down the loose nails and said he would have to get more materials to finish the job. Three weeks have passed since then and he has not been back. I set up three different appointments with him, but he either cancelled or failed to show up for each of those. In the interim, I've had issues with the shoe molding pulling away from the walls in several rooms and the thresholds coming loose or completely off. I checked out his references prior to hiring him which were good, but I should have seen him not showing up the first day as a sign of what was to come. That and the fact that he only accepted cash for payment. It angers me that it's been a month since the job was supposed to be finished and I am now going to have to hire someone else to come fix his mistakes.Desired Settlement: I paid him $4,000 for his services and would like to have $600 of that back to pay another company to come fix what he messed up. He has offered that via text message, but I have no faith that he will actually make the payment with your intervention.
