David J. Heintjes Esq Reviews (1)
Review: Attorney Heintjes was hired to represent us and was paid by myself to do so. After retainer was paid, attorney did no work, wrote one letter and left on vacation (I have email as written proof)I have asked Mr. Heintjes to provide detail workable billing hours showing hours worked on case. When a lawyer has agreed to bill a client based on the time spent on a project, inflating, fabricating, or padding of hours violates a host of ethical rules. Rules that prohibit padding or lying about hours worked include ABA Model Rules 1.5 (requiring that fees be reasonable), 8.4 (prohibiting fraud, deceit, and misrepresentation by lawyers), and 7.1 (prohibiting false statements about a lawyers services), and the comparable rules in most states I have since hired another attorney and Mr. Heintjes cannot be contacted, as I have tried to email and telephone him. My attorney would also like to speak with him. If it were not for my current attorney we would not have been cleared of charges wrongfully brought again him.Desired Settlement: Refund of retain $4,500 which will go to my new attorney.
