David Loud Car Audio & Custom Wheels Reviews (1)

I purchased a $400 touchscreen radio/dvd/Bluetooth for my car. They didn't connect it right so the sound when all the way up still wasn't very loud. I took it back and left it for them to look at and went back over an hour later and they hadn't even looked at it yet so I had to leave. I took it a few weeks later after having an amplifier and subwoofer installed to have the radio replaced because I was told by the audio place that installed the amplifier that it wasn't was cheap junk and they didn't bypass the [redacted] amplifier that's why the sound was not working properly. They charged me another $200 to upgrade. Yes it was nicer but they still didn't install it correctly and bypass the amplifier as they know they need to do to get the proper sound. After telling them how to do their job they told me I would have to pay another $100. So as a result of them not installing it correctly the first time I ended up spending an extra $300 for the upgrade and for them to do the installation correctly. This is definitely unfair trade practice!Product_Or_Service: touchscreen radio/dvdDesired SettlementRefund all labor charged for not doing it correctly the first time then charging me over and over again for something that could've been avoided the first time had the done it right!Business Response Mr. [redacted] came in more than 4 months ago to purchase a head unit for his Lexus (power acoustik double din 626bt). We installed the head unit according to factory standards using the pac module (TATO) which is the module used to integrate the factory amplifiers with aftermarket head units for Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The customer came back roughly 3 months later to look at what options he had in order to get a better sound, unfortunately because of our wait time the customer decided to leave before we had a chance to look at his vehicle. Tuesday April 26th 2016 the customer came in stating that he got someone else's opinion about the radio and that he believed it to be junk and wanted to get it replaced. We have an "all sales final" policy and we do not accept returns and or exchanges unless there is something defective with a unit for in which case we will gladly replace under warranty standards. In this case Mr. [redacted] did not want the same unit and there was nothing wrong with the one he currently had. In order to keep our customer satisfied, we decided to not only let him upgrade his radio to the one of his liking, But also gave him full credit of what he paid originally. This only left him with a difference of 200.00 (213.50 after taxes) (Invoice #XXXXX) Again, to keep the customers positive experience and satisfaction. After the installation was complete, the customer stated that he was still not satisfied with the sound that he was getting out of the new radio. We made him aware that the only way to get the true full potential out of his radio was to do a full factory amplifier bypass ($275 labor and parts charge) Mr. [redacted] seemed to be upset that he had to spend even more money to get his sound system to where HE wanted it to be. I could see that he was starting to get frustrated so I decided to AGAIN for customer satisfaction NOT charge him for any of the labor which would take yet another 2 hours of our installers work time as long as he would just pay $100 (which would just cover parts and wire used in the installation to do the bypass). I feel like we went above and beyond to try to keep this customer satisfaction and experience the best as possible. We strive to provide 5 star service even in the worst case scenarios. I do not see anything that we could have done differently in this scenario in which would of made the customer any happier. Unfortunately there are cases in which no matter how hard we try or how much we do its just never good enough. "We shall do good work. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work"Consumer Response In response, after installation yes I did take it back because I knew the sound was not right. When turned all the way up on 40 (as loud as the unit would go) I couldn't barely hear it when driving with the windows down and sunroof open. The first time I took it yes I had to leave because they told me 40 minutes and when I returned (longer than 40 minutes later) they hadn't even touched the car. I later was told by [redacted] (an employee) that the sound was like that because the Lexus amplifier was not bypassed as it should've been when it was installed. [redacted] also commented on how great it sounded after it was done properly. The volume on 7 now sounds louder than when it was on 40 previously yet they say it was installed properly. If you read the response from them they admit that the necessary bypass was not done. It states that I paid $100 to cover parts and wire used in the installation to do the bypass!! I am extremely upset at the fact that they did not bypass the amp the first time as they claim they did and then spent the extra $200 on a slightly upgraded unit and another $100 for something they should've done the first time. This customer would've been very happy the first time if the installation was done correctly. A friend of mine had the same installation done on a Lexus at a different audio sound store with no issues out the door the first time. I know where I will be going and referring people to in the future and it will NOT be [redacted] Louds to be ripped off.Final Business Response In Response, like we stated before there are two methods in which this installation could be done. One is by using a integration harness ( which is what we did originally) and the other is by performing an amplifier bypass which is what we did lastly. Neither one of these methods are incorrect or "not right" as you are stating. Some people prefer to retain the factory amplifier for such reasons as keeping the manufacturer warranty and others decide the best thing for them is to do an amplifier bypass for better sounds quality. The cost of the two installations are very different. Like I've stated before the cost of an amplifier bypass alone in labor is $275 which is not what the customer paid for originally. Instead he paid for the (TATO) installation and then 3 months later decided that was not the route he wanted to go with. When coming back to [redacted] we thoroughly explained to him what different options were in order to increase the sound and the customer agreed that the amplifier bypass was what he wanted to do. Unfortunately with this being a whole different installation process with a lot more time involved it was obvious that this would not be covered for free under any kind of warranty, since there was nothing "wrong" or incorrect about the previous install. Instead the customer wanted to switch up the installation route and method. If the customer does not agree with this being a whole different installation and understand the process and method then why did they agree to pay for it and then later decide that it should of been covered in the initial visit? That is simply a contradiction and does not make sense. Unfortunately for the customer as it is stated in our terms and conditions (which the customer signed) "all sales are final" and no refunds will be tendered.
