David N. Schultz, Inc. Reviews (2)

The worst building management that I have ever dealt with in my lifeI currently reside at XXXX X/*** Blvd where the building is managed by *** *** Ever since I moved in things have been falling apart in the bathroom and the kitchen and each time I have asked the management to fix these issues none have been fixed, and the most important part would be asking the building manager to get my unit checked for mold exposure twice which she both times has ignored such serious mattersI spoke with the building manager and the management team end of January that I had just been laid off and if I could pay my Feb rent at the end of the month which they agreed to then later on asked for half of it by mid February*** *** told me to mail in my check directly to the main office in GlendaleI sent in my check and never received a response until two weeks later I see an eviction noticeAbsolutely zero communication and bad attitudeSome are just simply not meant to be managing buildings Do not rent from *** N ***You will regret it

I decided to write this review, not to necessarily persuade people to do business with David N. S[redacted] one way or the other. I am writing simply to share my experience so that others may prepare themselves and take the appropriate precautions if they do choose to rent from one of their many properties.

It is in my opinion and my opinion only that I believe David N. S[redacted] only cares about your money and has very little to zero interest in you as a person/tenant. They will appease and placate your concerns just enough to make you feel obligated to continue paying your rent. They will use their overwhelming strength, influence and wealth to bludgeon you into conformity while exploiting the ever present fear of legal retaliation.

I will not get into the majority of specifics for my situation; however, I do want to share a few things that I believe is applicable to every previous, current and/or future tenant. Something that I feel is utterly egregious and flagrant; something that I suspect David N. S[redacted] may have done and may continue to do to others. I will try to keep this as objective as I can.

After providing sufficient notice, I terminated my lease and moved out of my apartment. As I usually do, I repaired any minor damage that I may have caused, including most/all that would fall under normal wear and tear. I cleaned, scrubbed, swept, vacuumed and dusted every surface. I do so for every apartment that I live in because one, I believe it is just common courtesy and two; I want to ensure that I receive my full deposit back. I photographed the apartment for evidence and had the resident manager inspect for damages. After finishing the walkthrough I was given a signed copy of the Inspection Report that states that I had left the apartment in the condition that it was received. With that, I turned in my keys and waited for my deposit.

After waiting the full 21 days, I received my deposit, minus charges for Repainting the Interior and Cleaning Fees. I called David N. S[redacted] to discuss the matter. I was passed around for several hours before I had the opportunity to debate my claim. During the conversation, I was told repeatedly that I was in the wrong and the charges would stand as is despite the above mentioned evidence. Apparently, after spending hours "looking into my case" the property supervisor still did not have access to the copy of the Inspection Report, which I then provided to him. Even after being presented with their own report, I was told that he would have to continue looking in my situation. As a result, I determined my only course of action would be through a small claims case.

I implore anyone and everyone who has, is or will do business with them to protect yourself by saving and documenting everything that you can. Do not allow yourself to be bullied into paying unwarranted, unfounded and potentially illegal fees and charges. In all likelihood you should either be prepared to lose your deposit, or go to court. In either scenario I wish you all the best of luck
