Review: I visited Mr. [redacted] on 07-20-15 at a 1pm Free Consultation for potential representation for a pending IRS Audit. Mr. [redacted] did not disclose his hourly rates or entirely orally tell me what his services would include during my pending audit process. He never provided me in copies of what information that I signed upon my departure from his office on 07-20-15. He mentioned that he would submit or prepare the Power of Attorney and would be in touch. I left the office feeling indifferent and not knowing my next steps.

I continued that week to still inquire about other options and discuss with trusted professional friends about the right path to take. About 07-25-15, I received a letter from Mr. [redacted] that discussed basically all the things he would not be doing for me during the audit process. Upon reading the letter, I felt I would be basically providing him $2500 to start and the charges would continue to increase for doing little to absolutely nothing. I called on 07-27-15 to gain clarity about the disturbing letter. I didn't feel comfortable signing or committing to proceed. He stated he would represent me and focus on 2013 IRS audit. The conversation was brief and lasted no more than 10 mins if that.

After further thought and other counsel, I left Mr. [redacted] 2 messages on Thursday stating I no longer wanted to use his services. Friday 07-31-15 9:22am, I had a message left from his administrative assistant Jennifer stating they received my messages and were withdrawing their services per my request. I called back and asked for documentation/itemize charges.

I believe that this attorney hiked up his charges or doubled billed me for alleged work that he never really did and has the audacity to even document that I owe more when he essentially did nothing. He faxed a 2248, left 2 messages, perhaps read correspondence, and then charged me for a conversation when his letter, said if I had questions to call. His letter didn't say that I would be billed.Desired Settlement: This attorney in my opinion is an unethical or legal crook and uses a lot of scare tactics. I want other people in similar situations in search of ethical attorneys to be aware that this is not the one they should consider. I want a refund of my $500 back or this attorney should only bill me for his preparation of which a simple fax, and again refund the difference. This man should be ashamed to rip potential clients off. People like myself are desperately seeking assistance from attorneys that are going to do things right. HIs website prides itself on giving people peace of mind. He is completely the opposite of all he claims to represent. I entered into his office completely unaware of the process of obtaining an attorney. I never hired one before. I didn't know I needed to ask what his rates were from the start. What I did know was that the consultation was free and he billed me for an hour of his rate of $375.
