I asked for a partial refund of services due to the fact that we were relocating.
My children begin orthodontic treatment in June of 2013. I had to pay a total of $2591.00 for the down payment. After that I was set up to pay a total of $380.19 a month starting in July of 2013, which I paid every month at every appointment. I took my kids in for their last scheduled treatment on December 2, 2013, at that time I asked if I could receive a partial refund of what I had paid because my children had only received 6 months of treatment and that I had practically paid for one childs full treatment, the assistant, I believe her name was [redacted] told me she would have to talk with [redacted] and give me a call. Due to the fact that I had paid a total amount of $5036.95 in only 6 months and always made my payments on time. I felt pretty good that I was going to be refunded part of my money. When [redacted] called me to tell me she had talked to [redacted] and he said there would be no refund, I asked again, "not even part of what I've been out?" and she told me no. I would not complain about this but that is a lot of money to be out and now every orthodontist I have contacted about my kids will not continue treatment and will only take them as patients if we start all over by taking off the braces that [redacted] put on, which I was told by [redacted] and his staff that I would have no trouble finding another orthodontist to continue my kids treatment.

I've been told by staff members of several orthodontist that I have contacted that I should have received some sort of refund and that my situation sounded like a "theft of services".

All I wanted was part of my money back, which I was pretty sure I would have gotten, but I didn't. Now I have to try to figure out how to come up with another down payment so that my children can start all over with their treatment.
