On January 19,2015 we received a phone call from Mr....

[redacted] stating that his vehicle was towed in due to an inopperative condition that had happened over the weekend.
We told the customer at the time that we would diagnois his vehicle and let him know what was wrong, what the extent of damages were and what if any the cost to him would be.
After looking at the vehicle we found metal fibers hanging from the bell housing of the vehicle which is concurrent with clutch failure. At that time we gave Mr, [redacted] the total amount to repair his vehicle. Mr. [redacted] then questioned as to why he should pay and was told at that time that a clutch is not covered past 12 months or 12000 miles, Mr. [redacted] had 18880 miles on his vehicle,
Mr. [redacted] was given the phone number to Jeep Customer assistance and as normal when he called they called the dealership to find out whats going on, Customer asssitance was then told of the issue at hand (with the clutch ) and also that Mr. [redacted] had installed over size tires and wheels and also a lift kit on his vehicle, We were then told that the clutch is not a covered component with this mileage but also that when a lift kit/large tires and rims are installed on a vehicle it voids the warranty on such components.
We tried to help Mr. [redacted] as best we could, He had his vehicle removed from the dealership and taken to an independent garage for repairs due to the fact he would have to pay, We are sorry that Mr. [redacted] had troubles with his vehicle as with anyone when troubles arise, its never convenient to have. We did not make the ending" decision that this repair was the customers responsibility, Jeep did. Mr, [redacted] was out no money at our dealership and therefore we feel at this time there is no reason for payment of any sort.
