Whitaker Construction was contracted in 2012 to install a new roof on Mr. [redacted] property. The proposal stated to: remove existing shingles and dispose of all debris. Install 15# felt paper. Install new corrugated metal roofing, in-stock color. Replace up to 15 sheets of sheeting. Install...

ridge vet and pipe flashing. The job was completed as defined in our proposal. Two months after completion of project, we were contacted by a very upset Mr. [redacted] stating his roof had been leaking. We immediately went to Mr. [redacted] home and inspected to see what had gone wrong. Upon our inspection we found that Mr. [redacted] bathroom exhaust vents had never been vented correctly since they were installed. There is no documentation stating this property was mold free prior to our company doing roofing work. No problem found on our part. We did however correct Mr. [redacted] problem free of charge. At that time we informed Mr. [redacted] that he had mold in his attic. We received a phone call from a very angry Mr.[redacted] on approx. May 30th stating we messed his roof up and he wanted our insurance info so he could file a claim against us. Mr. [redacted] stated that we caused him to not be able to sell his house. Mr [redacted] was instructed that he need to contact the owner of the company, David Whitaker. Mr. [redacted] contacted David Whitaker directly and told him the same story. Mr [redacted] demanded our insurance info stating, " since we are like family I don't want this to get ugly." Mr [redacted] stated that the cost was going to be $9000 to correct his problem. At no time did Mr [redacted] ever ask either party to stop by his property and discuss his problem. The only thing an angry Mr. [redacted] wanted was money or insurance info. I have documentation that shows we did purchase enough venting strips for the roof. in addidtion to our installed venting Mr [redacted] house had eve and gable venting. I will attach all our info to this response.
