If your thinking of useing this contractor. you better think twice.he is suppose to be fully insured.In February 2017 I hired Dave, but instead he sent his bother in law Brain to do the work on my kitchen. to fully gut my kitchen new sheet rock, ceiling, insulation, tile floor and backsplash.
well screw marks are showing thru sheetrock. I put new windows in 1 yr prior, broke the window sash. and repaied with putty.put the new tile floor in about a month later on 3 side of the island tiles were cracking, sent his brother in law Brian out what a disaster!!! he removed 1 tile and crack 3 ajoining tiles, and was leaving like that!!! called Dave and insisted he come and complete work, which he did...Now last 2019 the floor is cracking from one tile to the next...called Dave was told "bad tile" to contact ***. they looked at pictures and stated tile in cracking from one tile to the next. movement under the floor,not laid correctly. Called Dave again started cursing at me!!! was done correctly. finally was contacted by insurance co. sent claims adjusted out. he founf 17 cracked tiles and 5 chipped!!! floor not level.plus dry wall issues, and cracked window sill.his report stated over $3300.00 of damages!!! but he was not covered at the time of service by that insurance Co.so gave me his other insurance co.and after a month, not liable either. is no insurance coverage for Brian...or dave??? this was 6 months of my time!!! I guess my next step is legal action!!! dont used this construction company...I have pictures too of the damages/also made report with Pa Attorney General to report this business
Regarding ***’s complaint. I did have insurance back in 2017 when I did her job and then I switched insurance in 2019 and I still have insurance. But in her case my first insurance co adjuster said there is over 3000.00 in damage but said it was not proven what caused the damage. I only charged her 1600.00 for the floor. there is tile with holes in the middle of the tile as well as cracks and chips all over. Normal installation was used on her job. In my 29yrs of experience I never seen tile with holes in the middle of the tile and chips. To me a contractor can’t install tile where it will cause this. And as far as the cracks if you open a box of tile and there is pieces that are the same well then they are going to have the same density. I don’t know if she dropped anything on the floor to put holes in the middle of these tile or what happened. But I told her travertine tile is not like other tile it is not as durable. The other floors I did are fine. And yes she called other contractors and they told her it’s not installed correctly but at this point it becomes a bidding war so yes everyone wants the work. So I called my second insurance company and they denied it as well. This job was done two and a half years ago. If she had problems sooner she should’ve called me sooner I don’t know what she dropped or rolled over the tile to cause the damage but I did standard practice like all tile jobs. I did go and Look at it and gave he receipts from where SHE picked out the tile. but unfortunately *** don’t want to take blame of bad tile they want to sell her a new floor. So now I guess it’s going to come down to the little contractor to take blame. I guess I’ll be seeing her at a magistrate’s office to try to defend myself
