wanted to give my feedback on this store. I have never had a bad experience with any place I have ever been and I’m not a complainer whatsoever, but this store has extremely poor service and I think it really needs to be addressed because we got cheated out of a good experience and the correct dress. My aunt, my cousin (bride), and myself along with other bridesmaids went shopping for our dresses there. The first day we went, I tried on a size 12 dress and it fit me. They said the dresses stretch a lot trying them on and insisted I upsize, but wanted me to get a 16, despite which dress fit me. I argued back and forth with them that I thought I needed a 14, as did the other member of the group. Not only that, they could not give us the same answers on questions we had about pricing, or colors of dresses and when they came in. They all gave different answers and looked like deer in headlights every time we asked questions. Erin helped us, and she did not know anything about her job. The alterations manager told my aunt that alterations would be about $40 if we needed to get them. Today, we came in for alterations because my size 16 dress that they insisted I get, of course was WAY too big. The alterations lady, an older lady with an accent, pretty much pinned up my whole dress because of how out of size it was. When she first saw me she just said “it fits- why do you need alterations?” which I thought was very odd because the dress clearly was entirely swallowing me. After she finished alterations, she said “you got the wrong size dress” and took me to find a size 14. She couldn’t find one, so I asked if I could try on the 12. I tried it on, and it fit perfectly. She then said that’s the size you need. She then said it would be $170 for alterations, and naturally we freaked out because the dress didn’t even cost this much! It was $150. She brought in the alterations manager, and older lady with gray hair, and she then said we were all wrong, that she never said it was around $40, and that a size 12 would never fit me so that’s off the table. She then said I needed a size 16, and that a 14 would be too small for me. She said there is no exchange, and no return, when NO ONE informed us of this prior to buying the dress. She then said we do not have the option to buy another size dress because they can’t get one in due to not having a size 12 or 14 available. She was extremely rude. No customer service skills whatsoever, and DEFINITELY should not be a manager. From experience as a manager, you should apologize for the confusion or mistake, not blame it on the customer and say we are not at fault. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any store I’ve ever been to. She just said that we should get alterations and that there was no other option. We took our dress elsewhere and ended up getting alterations for 1/3 the price, from a company that said they get a lot of David’s bridal customers that are sour about their experience at the store. I thought I would inform someone, and I sincerely hope they can get some new management, or at least extensive training on how to treat customers and how to do their job correctly. I am really upset about this experience, because it seemed like I knew more about my dress needs than they did, although they argued until the end with me about how I was completely wrong.
