Davidson Auto Deals Reviews (%countItem)

In October of 2019, I purchased a vehicle from this business. As I test drove the vehicle I asked the sales rep about a rattle I heard coming from the rear of the vehicle he stated he did not know. I then purchased the vehicle as is knowing that it did not have an warranty. After purchasing the vehicle I had to wait on the title to come from the dealer, so I did not drive it too much. Once I did start driving the rattle became worst. I then decided to take it to two different mechanics, and both had said the same thing that the frame was rusted out so bad that the car could not be fixed. They also stated the car should not have been sold. They said I should reach out to dealer about how bad it was, they even stated that an insurance adjuster would have totaled the vehicle. I have pictures that I sent to the dealership owner. I contacted the owner Travis and explained how the vehicle is not even fixable, how unsafe it was for a person to drive that vehicle. He seemed like he did not care. Since I purchased as is, it was my mistake. I explained to him if I had been told about the underbody I would not have purchased it, since it is beyond repair. I asked him would he consider taking the vehicle back he told me NO! So, I explained to him that since it was AS IS, I would even consider some type of reimbursement. He again, would not help. Also, he did not fill out the title paperwork correctly, which had delayed me in being able to obtain the actual title. I feel he took advantage of me and sold me an non fixable vehicle. I don’t think he has made an effort to resolve the issue.

Mr. contacted me for the first time on this issue on 12/8/2019. Over 6 weeks from the date of purchase. As explained to him and all other customers that purchase cars under $2000 we do not know much about the vehicles. They are simply checked to see if they run and drive and beyond that nothing else. We offer our trade ins and lower end vehicles to the public as we know there is a need for vehicles like this. The customers are told that they are free to take it to their mechanic for inspection, but we know very little about the vehicles and they are being sold AS-IS with all faults. Mr. paid $1400 for this vehicle which is under market value due to the fact that they have not been inspected. I am sorry Mr. isn’t happy with his purchase however we feel that we do not owe Mr. any sort of reimbursement.

Thank You

I am rejecting this response because:I think it is unfair and unprofessional to sell something in that type of condition, with out giving the customer full details. If I would have been told how bad the frame was rusted I would have not purchased the vehicle. I understand I purchased as is, however a professional and upstanding business, would be honest! This did not happen. The owner of the business states he did nothing wrong, I disagree. I just wanted him to be fair and understand that was not ethnically right to sell that vehicle with out notice. I would have understood him not wanting to take the vehicle back, but I thought as an reputable local business owner, he would have at least tried to meet me halfway and offer some type of reimbursement. ( of any kind ) He did not, so no I don’t accept his response. I think his business operations are unsatisfactory and the worst customer service I have ever received. I would like him to own up to his responsibility and do the right thing.

I still stand in the fact that we operate a reputable business and we are fully transparent. The customer was explained that we knew little about the vehicle and had the opportunity to have it inspected. With that being said I feel we are not at fault.

Purchased a vehicle on 8/10/19 with 29,719 miles from ***. We found out on 9/5/19 that the odometer had been rolled back and said purchased car previously had 136,305 miles (reported on 1/15/18 CARFAX). We have contacted the seller and he denies rolling back any miles. We are now unable to reach the seller via phone call or text. The vehicle is now worth significantly less than the total of our auto loan for the vehicle. This car is not as advertised. We would not have purchased a vehicle with over 100,000 miles on it. We purchased a vehicle advertised at 29,719 miles and after the purchase was finalized, discovered the odometer had been rolled back.

Mrs.,

Hello, my name is *** and I have been informed that you will be handling my complaint against *** (ID ***). I wanted to start by thanking you for your time, helping us with this claim. I do have a few files I would like to send you, some information we have learned since making the complaint, and finally a few questions.

We have learned that the car we purchased from Mr. was a Canadian car and the car was originally tracked in kilometers. We did purchase an official document from the DOT in Canada that shows the KM each time the car was registered. This document is in English and French so it is a little difficult to follow. I will send you the original document below along with another copy of the document that I have highlighted all of the English so it is a little easier to follow. This document is also a bit difficult to follow because it goes backwards. The first registration of the car starts on page 4 and the most recent registration of the car is on page 1- all dates are on the document along with the KM at the time of registration.

When we purchased this vehicle from Mr., the advertisement and our bill of sale said the car has 29,719 miles. Looking at the document we purchased from the DOT, it shows that the car had 362,119 KM on 10/31/18, which is 225,010 miles. The next entry for the car shows 22,140 KM on 12/27/18, which is 13,757 miles. This was the time of the roll back. We have provided this document to Mr. and he still denies the miles on the odometer were ever altered and it must be a conversion issue. However, we disagree. We purchased a vehicle from Mr. on 8/6/19 that had 29,719 miles however we now have a document that shows that this same vehicle has over 200,000 miles on 10/31/18.

I do want to let you know that we have made several complaints against Mr. with different agencies. We have also contacted a lawyer regarding this issue as we are no longer communicating directly with Mr. due to his lack of willingness to help with this situation and denial of the rollback every taking place. We are trying to prepare ourselves for the event of having to take this issue to court. My husband and I would like very much to solve this issue with Mr. before having to go to court. With that being said, we have not started any legal action against Mr., rather we have just put a retainer down with a lawyer and sent him all of our information. We are very thankful for any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter.

Documents attached:
Carfax report for the vehicle DOT document from Canada (2 copies, one original and one highlighted English) Bill of Sale Proof of insurance limited warranty that came with the sale of the vehicle
Finally, we do have two questions.
We purchased the vehicle on 8/6/19 and Mr. has not yet provided us with the information needed to register the car in our names. The paper plate on the car expires on 9/24/19. Our trusted mechanic has advised us that this car is not safe to drive due to many mechanical issues. Since learning the car has way more miles on it that what we purchased it at, we would like to return the car to Mr. and get a full refund for our loan. If that is the case, we would like to not register this car at all- seeing as we do not want to keep this car. What is your advise? Should we go ahead and register this car until the matter is settled? Or should we let the paper plate expire and continue not driving the vehicle? Our first loan payment is due to the bank on 9/24/19. Again- we are hoping to return this vehicle to Mr. for a full refund. Should we start making payments on this vehicle?
Again, thank you for your time and consideration. I wanted to let you know that I am available during the day at any time if you have any further questions. My cell number is *** and my work number is *** ext ***

Best

9/16/2019 Revdex.com (Fort Wayne)To whom it may concern,I am writing this letter in response to the complaint I received regarding ***. Mrs. has made a complaint to your office complaining that I sold them a 2013 Ford Flex Vin*** with an odometer that has been rolled back. I have had several conversations with Mrs. about this and though I have proof the vehicle was purchased from me as actual miles then sold to her actual miles we have not been able to reach a resolution. I have attached a copy of the title and auto check that both state actual miles. Along with that I have attached the customers confirmation of buying the vehicle AS-IS. Also, the customer purchased the vehicle $4000 below NADAretail value. I take care of people as my online reviews show. With that being said I have offered 3 options to them. 1) To allow me to take the vehicle to auction and sell it and apply the amount to the loan. 2) I have offered to let them trade it in at about trade value. 3) I offered to repair the knuckles on the vehicle. They have declined all 3 options. Please review attached documents and let me know if there are any further questions.Thank YouTravis DavidsonOwnerDavidson Auto Deals
