Davidson Auto Salvage Reviews (12)

Review: I purchase a used 2003 Chevy Impala 3.8 Liter engine from Davidson Auto Salvage with a 30 day warranty on 10/24/14. I asked for the vehicle VIN number to trace the history of the engine. (Ira)the owner of Davidson Auto Salvage would not provide a real VIN number for me after I purchase this engine. I also paid to have it delivered and the engine was never delivered. I had to rent a Pickup truck from enterprise to get the engine. After the engine was installed a few days later. The engine was making a load noise. The mechanic said that it was bad rods in the engine. I called Davidson Auto Salvage and spoke with his wife (Georgia) and she was to relate the message to Ira the owner. I never received any callback from anyone at Davidson Auto Salvage. I called the next day, finally I spoke with Ira, and he said that he would send one of his mechanics out to look at the engine with a different one load on his truck. No one from Davidson Auto Salvage ever showed up to my home or the mechanic's location to view and confirm that it was a bad rod(s). I called several more times for three weeks and broken promises of delivering a different engine, which never happened.Desired Settlement: $550.00 - 3.8 Liter Chevrolet Impala engine$338.00 - Rental car $100.00- Gas for Rentals$200.00 - replacement of engine Gaskets--------------------------------$1188.00 - Total cost

Review: I ordered a used engine ($500) from Davidson Auto Salvage, that had been wrecked and did not include the water pump. I also purchased a radiator, which was not the correct radiator for my Ford Explorer vehicle. I ordered the engine and paid for it on July 15th. The engine was supposed to be delivered the next day on July 16th. Needless to say the engine was not delivered until the following week. Once my mechanic came off of vacation, he informs me when he was getting ready to install the engine it had been wrecked and is missing the water pump and the radiator is not the right radiator. I made Davidson Auto salvage aware of this and they stated again they would get new radiator to shop the next day. Well once again, like the engine, the radiator still has not arrived at the shop and I've been waiting now on August 14th, a month to get this resolved. The warranty expires in 30 days and it has been exactly 30 days.Desired Settlement: Refund of engine and labor charged by auto shop, and replacement of the engine.

Review: I purchased a $1,200 transfer case from Davidson Auto Salvage. It was supposed to be available after three days. After waiting four weeks, we told Davidson Auto Salvage we wanted our money back. It has been seven and a half weeks and we still do not have our refund.Desired Settlement: My desired resolution would be for Davidson Auto Salvage to give me my $1,200.
