This customer called to have us look at an old Sea Ray with the condition that one of his engines over ten years old needed to be replaced. He had specific times he could meet so we needed to be there for his schedule. The fist trip to the boat he told us that depending on the condition of the...

other engine he would repower the boat. The heads were off the other engine and parts tossed around the engine room. The second trip we went to check the compression on the other engine and the engine would not turn over. We pulled the starter to insure it was working properly. I gave the customer a price on a new engine and he said to hold off. Our season is very busy and the year went by. I saw the customer at the boat show and he expressed interest in proceeding. We sent a technician to reinstall the starter that had to be rebuilt and the customer missed us. The final trip we come from Green Cove Springs, was successful.We installed the starter and the engine was indeed locked up. Sitting with bad exhaust manifolds more than likely took out both motors. Four trips and a starter rebuild is hardly a ground to gripe over a five hundred dollar bill. We charge more for one trip in most instances. I am sorry due to the customers lack of maintenance his over fifteen year old vessel in which was a place to stay at River City Brewing co., was not in better shape but it would have cost as much for Sea Tow to bring it to any repair facility. We will turn this over to collections!
