The first repairs, they did lasted one day.I had to take it back and now it will almost be a year! They keep telling us it will be next month. It started in June 2014. I was charged for a repair that was not even the problem!I replaced the battery and 3 sensors. It cost me 1500.00 dollars. They had my car for a month. I picked it up in July. I went on vacation for 2 weeks. When I returned home. The car would not start. Dead in my driveway.I jumped the car off, The same sensor lights came on that was the original problem. I returned the car to them in August. They still have my car, Not Repaired and want 1500.00 dollars more. A total of 2700.00 when and if I ever get it back! THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR 9 MONTHS, WITH 9 MONTHS OFF THE WARRANTY OF THEIR WORK AND THE NEW BATTERY THEY PUT ON! I AM A RETIRED DISABLED ARMY SOLDIER AND DEMAND FAIR TREATMENT. THEY WILL ALMOST HAVE MY CAR FOR ONE YEAR. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! This is MY WIFE'S CAR, SO WE HAVE HAD TO BORROW A CAR FROM MY DAD. Please TAKE CARE OF THIS OR THE ARMY HAS AGREED TO FURNISH ME A MILITARY LAWYER FREE OF CHARGE! ALL I WANT IS MY WIFE'S CARE FIXED RIGHT. We have had to pay for plates AND insurance all this time for a car we can't even drive. My wife has cried so much over all this.. It's just awful. I was told it would be ready in February. We live an hr. away. My wife stopped by Monday. They have not even started on it! It's the middle of March now! I'm suppose to pay another 1597.00 when I pick up the car. Because the last time we picked up the car in October. When it was supposedly fixed. We were told they drove it 120 miles and lights came on! My wife drove it home that Friday evening with the sunroof open. The sensor lights came on before she ever got the 40 miles to our home. She called Davis automotive to turn around and bring it back. she was told she couldn't bring it back till Monday! I guess since her car sat it in hot sun for 4 months the rubber around the sunroof was stuck together! It would not close and was going to rain that weekend! I tried to get it closed. but couldn't. around a month later I was told it was the sans module that was my problem. It would be replaced free of charge. Since I already paid 1500 on something that wasn't the problem. But then later on down the line we were told the track was messed up and the sunroof would have to be replaced. That would cost me another 1597.00.. that was October. That's where we r at.. My wife was told on Monday. That they haven't had a full crew since November.I just don't know what to say. I think there is no reason for a business to have a persons car this long! Have they not repaired any cars in 9 months? Are they putting others in front of us? It's all so surreal!!Desired SettlementI want my wife's car fixed correctly!!I think for what we have been thru. we should get our original payment refunded to us! Plus I think we shouldn't be charged the additional 1597.00 for the sunroof issue. I asked can u just get it closed? We will never use the sunroof. I was told no, but yet my wife stopped by one day it was sitting in the parking lot, outside with the sunroof closed? She was shocked!! One problem revolved around another. My wife and I have been very patient. I feel there is no reason for a business to have ur car this long. Who even knows if it's fixed. I don't think I can take their word. We have been told twice now it was fixed. It was not! It had to be returned the same day! I just don't know what to do anymore? I just want this to end.. Come on, they have had her car since June!I also want the warranties for all the work and the new battery to start the day my car is truly fixed and released to my wife!Thank you[redacted](USA)RETIREDBusiness Response The initial repairs made on Mr. [redacted]'s car came to a total of 955.31, not 1500.00 as Mr. [redacted] stated in his complaint. I have the original invoice to verify this if need be. There were two parts install at that time of repair that did not address Mr. [redacted]'s concern. Those two parts come to a total of 47.50. To correct the concern we replaced the front SAM module, at no additional charge to the customer, which cost the business 332.00. We feel that is being extremely fair. As far as the sunroof repair is concerned, the track broke. It had nothing to do with the seal sticking due to the car sitting in the sun. We gave the customer an estimate to repair the sun roof and they approved it. It was either replace it with an assembly from [redacted] at a price of about 5,000 dollars or install a used one. They opted for a used one due to the cost. There are no individual replacement parts available to repair the sunroof, which deemed it necessary to replace it as an assembly. Now to address the length of time for repairs. The repair time on the initial visit was a total of approx. 22 business days. This is slightly excessive but not uncommon when you taken in to consideration the whole process start to finish. You have to get the car in the shop to diagnose the problem, which depending on several factors may not happen as quickly as intended. Second, it's not always easy to diagnose a problem, in this case multiple problems, on vehicles with operating systems that are more complicated than a [redacted]. Unfortunately, in this business every customer thinks their car is the most important one on our schedule. We try to treat them as such, but sometimes we fall short. What can I say, we are only human. Third, we have to build a repair estimate to inform the customer of repair costs. Depending on parts availability and a few other factors, this can take sometimes a day or two as we have more than one estimate to make on a daily basis. Fourth, we have to try to contact the customer and get approval. Sometimes this is instantaneous and some times it takes a couple days depending on when we actually get to talk to the customer and whether or not they need to think about it. Fifth, if the repair is approved, we have to order parts. This can take some time as well. Especially on a car such as Mr. [redacted]'s where parts aren't readily available. Lastly, when the parts arrive, we have to somehow manage to fit the vehicle back into our already busy schedule so we can perform the repairs. Assuming all goes well, meaning the diagnosis was correct and there weren't any parts issues, the vehicle is then ready to go back to the customer. Sometimes issues do arise with the repair after the customer picks it up, but we do what we feel is our best to make it right. You don't stay in business this long without a good reputation. The reason the car has been here so long the second trip is one, we had to properly diagnose the concern that was not addressed on Mr. [redacted]'s initial visit. Second, we had to order the parts to correct that concern, at no charge to the customer. Third, we had to try to find a suitable replacement roof for Mr. [redacted]'s car, which was a task, because these cars aren't exactly known for their quality which makes it hard to find a good used replacement assembly. Fourth, after approving the repairs, Mr. [redacted] stated that he did not have the money at that time to pay for the repairs and that it would be after the first of the year around tax time before he would. The last time I personally spoke with Mr. [redacted] was at the end of January or first of February. I told him all repairs were complete except for the roof due to being understaffed because of sickness and personal issues with technicians. He said that it was fine because he still did not have the money but should have it sometime in February. As of today, March 26, the roof has not been installed nor will it be. Mr. [redacted] made it clear that he didn't want to spend the money to repair the roof, a job that he approved might I add, so we have elected at this time to close his original roof at no charge and let him come pick his vehicle up. The business will just have to take a loss on the roof that we have already paid for, and again, that Mr. [redacted] had approved to try to satisfy him. We will not be issuing a refund in any amount, nor will we be accepting any business from Mr. [redacted] in the future. Consumer Response I was contacted by Davis Automotive. I was told that they, did not appreciate me contacting Revdex.com. It was bad for business! I was told my car would be parked, out front with the key in it. If I didn't pick it up by 5:30. It would be towed! Do not enter his business, or he would call the police. They had gotten my sun roof closed like I asked in my settlement. I didn't owe him anything. He just wanted the car off his property. He said he doesn't want any of my future business!! Do not come back!!!! He just didn't appreciate me contacting Revdex.com. When we returned the car for the third time, for the same thing! Now, with the additional sunroof issue. I asked if they could just get it closed? It was going to cost us an additional 1597.00 I was told no... So I said yes go ahead and order the part he found in Arkansas at a salvage yard. Yet,a month later my wife stops by to check on her car. We live an hr. away. so an 2 hr trip to see what's going on with the car. It is sitting outside with the sunroof closed, with a piece of trim hanging down. After we had already been told it could not be closed! My wife decided, she wanted the sunroof to work and did not make this an issue. Instead she got a job in October to make the money to pay the 1597.00. Every time we called they said it would be done in a couple weeks. It is now March, it still hasn't been fixed .And now the radio don't work!! It did when we took it there! We felt that contacting the Revdex.com was our only choice. Now, I feel even more insulted!! My wife is devastated, that was her special car! I got it for her when I retired from the army, [redacted] has been crying for hrs.1. for the way we were treated! 2. the sunroof don't work or her radio!! I really don't know what to say.
