The doctors billing told me the wrong amount due. I caught them and they were to issue a credit. They now refuse to.
On February 8, 2012 I called [redacted] Family Physicians to check my balance and be sure I was current. [redacted] looked up my accounts and told me the amounts still due after insurance had paid. I gave her an American Express to pay the balances. I told her that I needed copies of my statement to apply for reimbursement by my cafeteria plan and she said she would fax or email me the statement the next day after the credit card was run.

After hanging up I discovered that [redacted] had not told me the balance after insurance had paid, but had included the whole amount. I called back within ten minutes to tell her of the misquote. She then said the credit card was already run and that she would have a credit issued on my card the next day.

Then on February 18, 2012 I finally received the statement that I request and was to get by February 9, 2012 with a note saying she was sorry for the delay and that she was not going to issue the credit as she promised but wait for insurance to pay.

Never did she request my help in get insurance to pay.

On February 20, 2012 I called and talked to [redacted]'s supervisor and described the problem. She said she would not issue a credit even though [redacted] had promised it and had mislead me on the amount due.

Later, I called Ameriben and they received the document on February 9, 2012 from the pricing network Beach Street. They said they would be processed in 10 - 12 working days.

I want the credit now. I now want an apology letter and a promise that [redacted] Family Physicians will not pull this stunt again.
