Davis Heating & Cooling Reviews (7)

We purchased a high end Trane furnace and thermostat from Davis Cool in August Starting just a few days after the installation, we have had repeated issues with the equipment not working properly Every time we have an issue, a different service tech or techs shows up to inform us that the previous step was configured incorrectly, and that the previous personnel have quit or been fired We have had seven (7) issues in the first months, at which point I had to argue with the "new" receptionist to speak with the owner The owner will not take phone calls and will not return phone calls The owner did come to my home after two months of constant starting and stopping of my furnace, in frigid weather, but I took him two days to show up Then he showed up without a part and said he would have his tech come back out days later on the following Monday The tech showed up on a Monday - again without a part - and confirmed the same issue for the problem He said the new part would be in hand in three (3) days, and he would contact me then and setup a time That was five (5) WEEKS ago Again, the owner will not return a call and the receptionist is argumentative and insulting about the whole matter This has caused our furnace to run and stop repeatedly during cold months, running up our electrical bill approximately $more per month It doesn't matter if a company promises to fix an issue after an install, if they lack credentialed service employees and knowledge I would not recommend Davis Cool to anyone at this point

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
On Tuesday, 3/31/15, *** *** came to our house to look at our furnace. He noted that the system was not working and would not heat our house. On the following day, 4/1/15, another representative from *** Heating and Cooling came back to our house and spent time adjusting the setup of the furnace. Following that setup the system performed almost to par - for the first time since it was installed the temperatures in our home reached the levels we set on the thermostat. The furnace seemed to be working at the correct level and was heating the home - it was finally able bring the temperatures in the home up to or degrees. The outside temperatures ranged from degrees to degrees during this time
Unfortunately, outside temperatures do not stay above degrees in *** ***
On Friday night (4/3), temperatures outside dropped back below degrees. We awoke on Saturday to and degree temperatures within the home; the thermostat was set on degrees. The system - even when it is programmed correctly - is still unable to heat the home to the correct temperature when it is actually cold outside.
*** Davis, as noted in the response, did present me with his load analysis. It agrees with his competitor's calculation that almost 60,BTUH are required to heat the home. The ton furnace that *** installed is rated to deliver up to 36,BTUH of heat. *** states that the difference is to be made up with electric heat. My belief is that substituting electric for 40% of the required heating capacity greatly diminishes the efficiency of the system. The reason for choosing geothermal was to use less electric - a comparable heat pump for the home would have been less than a third of the cost of this geothermal system. I also believe that this extreme deficiency in capacity is the reason that my home is not heated to comfortable levels when the temperature outside falls below degrees
Although it appears that *** Heating and Cooling has finally - after months - correctly programmed the system they installed, *** *** has still not resolved the underlying issue that the home is not heated to average levels when it is cold outside. In those months my family has endured financial losses (the electric bill has been 75% to 100% above what it should be, we've resorted to heating with a woodstove, using approximately ricks of wood), and enormous amounts of frustration and inconvenience. We are currently in the position of having a furnace that, at best, operates with an efficiency resembling a heat pump that would have cost at least $15,less, but that still doesn't heat correctly.
*** *** must remedy these issues, soon
Regards,
*** ***

Davis has had very poor costumer service We first used Davis last July The tech had to come out to our home twice for a total of $in repairs We contacted them again this spring hoping our problem was under warranty It was a new problem which us not Davis' problem But, we have been three weeks without an AC They are horrible about communication They were ordering an incorrect partWhen my husband tracked down the correct part and gave them the information to order it they didn't bother to let us know they didn't order it Their service is HORRIBLE and costly!!!!

Mr. [redacted] was given a proposal for a 4 Ton unit, however after much discussion on 10-25-15 Mr. [redacted] was given a new Proposal of which he agreed and also had 2 Options as seen in said complaint. Mr. [redacted] at that time chooses option #1. In this complaint Mr. [redacted] complains that the unit installed is not sufficient to do the job and now what's the outcome to have the unit replaced with a 4 Ton unit.
Pryor to having this work done he had another company come and do Average Load Procedure to analyze the home please see attachment 1 dated 1-28-2014. We have worked with Mr. [redacted] on a continuous basis and made ever attempt to do what we can to resolve the issues. In another effort to resolve his concerns we ran the numbers  please see attachment #2 dated 2-27-2015. We maintain that the option Mr. [redacted] chose was the best option for his space and continue to work with Mr. [redacted] on this issue.

We purchased a high end Trane furnace and thermostat from Davis Cool in August 2014. Starting just a few days after the installation, we have had repeated issues with the equipment not working properly. Every time we have an issue, a different service tech or techs shows up to inform us that the previous step was configured incorrectly, and that the previous personnel have quit or been fired. We have had seven (7) issues in the first 6 months, at which point I had to argue with the "new" receptionist to speak with the owner. The owner will not take phone calls and will not return phone calls. The owner did come to my home after two months of constant starting and stopping of my furnace, in frigid weather, but I took him two days to show up. Then he showed up without a part and said he would have his tech come back out 5 days later on the following Monday. The tech showed up on a Monday - again without a part - and confirmed the same issue for the problem. He said the new part would be in hand in three (3) days, and he would contact me then and setup a time. That was five (5) WEEKS ago. Again, the owner will not return a call and the receptionist is argumentative and insulting about the whole matter. This has caused our furnace to run and stop repeatedly during cold months, running up our electrical bill approximately $150.00 more per month. It doesn't matter if a company promises to fix an issue after an install, if they lack credentialed service employees and knowledge. I would not recommend Davis Cool to anyone at this point.
