Davis Truck Painting Reviews (1)

Review: I took my commercial trailer in for multiple repairs and changes to the doors. The work took much longer than it should have (3 weeks to finish job). Getting timely updates as to where they were in the process of doing the work and a firm date as to when repairs would be completed was very challenging. The trailer was needed for my livelihood and they did not seem to be in any hurry in despite of many many calls to them. I asked for updated estimates throughout the process which I didn't receive only to find out the cost almost doubled when I was given the bill. Once I was finally able to inspect the job they had done I was disappointed. When they replaced the doors they left open holes in the trailer which would have leaked had I not caught them and then the shop fix it. They also put in a new vent that was not properly sealed nor installed correctly. They advised me if I wanted to leave the trailer again it would take awhile once again.Desired Settlement: and to finish the work in a timely manner with no additional charges

Response:

customer contacted us with the complaint and we discussed resolution. have already replaced the 8 missing rivets and waiting for customer to bring trailer in to measure for a bezel for the interior front vent.

Response:

I am rejecting this response: As far as the bill, we received 2 estimates one at $4200.00 and one for $3200.00. We had asked repeatedly for updated estimates but got none until the bill for $7083.09 was given to me. I expressed my concern at the increase and an adjustment was made down to $6124.59. Still way above estimates. This appears to be primarily due to increased labor costs to order to complete the work as it had already sat in their shop for 3 weeks. We should not bear this expense. As far as fixing the sloppy work on the vent, we were advised that it would be at our expense and that it would take multiple days in the shop to fix. It should be done in one day and not cost us.

Response:

The work is not sloppy on the front vent. The installation is clean and will not leak. We can only do what the customer asks us to do. If he did not want a gap at the interior front between the outer wall and inner plywood sheet he should have let us know prior to st[redacted]ing work. Now because I don’t know the exact measurement of the opening in the plywood I need to measure it and make a bezel to fill the gap. I only need the trailer for a couple of minutes to measure the opening and then I will make a bezel, but that will take a couple of hours. He can bring the trailer back by once the bezel is made and the installation will only take a few minutes. I explained this to [redacted] and I told him since it wasn’t included originally I would have to charge him, but at this point we will do it at no charge. When he originally brought the trailer in it was for removing a roll up door and installing swing doors and we told him it would take a week. we had problems getting the correct parts for the door hinges and that pushed it back 3 days, plus we had to do a repair at the top rail that added time also. [redacted] also added the other repairs when he brought it in and those repairs added to the time to do the job. I is not fair to expect all the work he requested to be done in the same time frame as the original door replacement time frame. The original cost estimate was for the door replacement only not the added on work such as the vents, battery box, liftgate, side rail and the roof rail repair. [redacted] Have a great day![redacted]PresidentDavis Truck Painting Inc.P.O. Box 1834

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: We expected a high quality job and do not feel it was necessary to advise we did not want any corners cut. The vent should have been installed with the box. The amount of time that the trailer was at your shop was more than sufficient to cover all requested work. That alone cost us significant revenue as the work shouldn't have taken 3 weeks. At this point, we simply want our complaint on record so that others can see our experience. We do not wish to bring it back for additional work.
