Appointment experience
My car was taken and the guy was so nice and allowed me to grab my wallet, and important papers. The office was very kind, and told me my car was in Pittsburg. The lady that was there was professional and most kind. I had some expensive glass decor in my car and she made sure to pack it with care. Everything I worried about being gone wasn’t, and I must say this company in all departments hires quality people. My experience was that they go above and beyond to assist in regaining ownership. Total respect and professionalism!

This customer reached us and was taken care of, we are a repossession company so when we are asked to enforce a contract for a lender it often is done without permission from the customerSometimes however our clients (lenders) don’t inform us clearly of
every detail of all previous calls and customers could feel they were not given the opportunity to voluntarily hand over the car, this is unfortunate and we try to encourage all lenders to give us all possible details of the prior discussionsWe are very accurate and I have not heard of this mistake in the last 15k repossessions that we have performedWe send our apologies to the consumer.Best,*** * ***President, DayBreak Metro Inc

Review: Our SUV was repossessed by Daybreak Metro. After paying all money owed my husband and I went to pick up our truck. Inside the the truck it looked as though it had been ransacked. All papers from glove compartment were on the floor, it was a mess. My husband drove the truck home and I followed behind in separate car. The following day we started noticing things that were missing like cell phone holder from dash board and car cell chargers. We began to clean the mess made by Daybreak employees and see what else was missing. All the spare change was taken along with the compartment drawer it was in. What ever else was stolen we won't know until it's something we need and look for that wont be there. Unfortunately this happened when my daughter needed her cheerleader uniform. I completely forgot it was in the back of the truck in her bag. I called Daybreak and I asked the woman who answered if it is normal policy to ran sack the vehicles and take whatever they want. She said everything in the vehicle was removed, inventoried and stored. "It's state law" she told me. She then told me if I wanted our stuff we had to pay storage fee's. I asked the woman why didn't she tell us this when we were there? She didn't have an answer. I said tell me how much we have to pay to get our stuff. She put me on hold and left me there never coming back on the line. I called my husband and explained our stuff was inventoried and in storage as the law requires (according to Daybreak receptionist)and he needs to call to find out how much it will cost, as I did not want to deal with the likes of that woman again. He called and same woman answered. He asked how much money it would cost to get our belongings back. She replied that she spoke with the lot supervisor who told her none of our property was in storage because they didn't have the car key to access the car therefor they were never inside the vehicle. While cleaning the car we found their inventory slip in the back seat which stated "bag of clothes".Desired Settlement: I would like our property back.

To Whom it may concern,

Per state law B & P 7507.9. Personal effects must be inventoried, removed and an accurate inventory shall be made. Also per state law, all California Repossesion companies can charge for personal property. B &P 7507.9 9(D). These are state laws in which we must go by.

This company does not and will not ransack any vehicle which is repossessed. Some vehicles we can not open without a key. We can then inventory what we can through a window.

As for items being stolen out of a vehicle is incorrect. We have 6 cameras on the lot on at all times. They cover the whole lot. Also there is cameras on all the trucks recording all repossession activities. So that being said it is very hard for anyone to steal any items from vehicles on the lot. On another note, the lot manager has been with the company for over 4 years. This person is the only one who does the property reports and inventory. This person has not stolen a thing in her whole life.

When a Debtor is aloud to get the vehicle back, the debtor must do a few things first. And once an appointment has been set up, they are told of all fees owing up front. Some debtors just show up expecting not to pay a thing for certain things like redemption fees, storage fees, property fees etc. We tell all debtors the same thing everyday. But if debtors do not call and make an appointment and just show up they will not know this information. This has been an issue and always will be.

Once we get a release from a financial institution, we then set a time for redemption for the vehicle and property. (if any) The debtor must sign all paperwork including condition report on the vehicle and a property list. Also release paperwork from the bank and our company. Every debtor gets copies of all signed paperwork. All paperwork is signed by the debtor. Releasing Daybreak Metro of any further issues.

Claiming something was stolen after a debtor has signed all paperwork and received the vehicle back is nonsense. No employee ransacked the car, which is not illegal. No employee steals from any of the vehicles we repossess. It is not worth their jobs.
