Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Please see attached photos from room *** "Smoking Room" in response to the letter sent to the Revdex.com from the Executive Housekeeper Harrison K*** at the EconoLodge & Conference Center Bethlehem, PA.As stated in their response "carpet was recently shampooed & there was one visible burn in the carpet" please see attached photo labeled "*** 6" which shows multiple visible burns on the carpetNot mentioned are the bathtub burns & bath filth attached in photos labeled *** & *** & attached photo labeled *** which clearly displays cracked paint & areas of an unpainted wall.
Their response further states "we are required to install new drapery, bedding & linens" please see photos labeled *** & *** & attached photos labeled hotel & hotel In photo *** you can clearly see the drapery is covered in wet stains throughout, the curtain would not close completely & was covered in heavy smoke sootPhotos labeled *** 3,
hotel & hotel show the mattress burns & rips in the bedding & barely depict the deplorable conditions at this EconoLodge.
They further state Choice Hotels does have standards set for each hotel, so in question what are the standards set for this particular location? In regards to families that return year after year
to each is own, what one family deems as acceptable may not be the opinion of another & the return of families should not be the staple of acceptance for all families!
I will not accept a 50% refund which I never asked for100% of my hotel expense is the least amount I am requesting to be refunded nothing less is acceptable.

She booked two rooms online; one non-smoking two double beds ([redacted]) and one smoking king room ([redacted]).After checking...

both rooms in the customer did call the front desk to ask if there was a room they could move to closer to the nonsmoking two double bed room but unfortunately we were at full occupancy that evening and we were not able to accommodate the room change. She did acknowledge she made the reservation for a smoking room because the non-smoking rooms were sold out.The smoking king room that the customer occupied was room [redacted] and was inspected by the Executive Housekeeper after receiving the complaint. Upon inspection the A/C unit was clean and the filter was being properly maintained. There was a small crack in the grill but nothing that would impede the unit functioning properly. The carpet was recently shampooed and there was one visible burn in the carpet. All of our guest rooms have the A/C cleaned daily by our housekeepers and the filters are cleaned on a monthly basis by our Maintenance Department. As part of Choice Hotels standards all hotels were required to install new drapery, bedding and linens all of which were done within the last year. The non-smoking double room was [redacted] and was recently renovated with new Carpet, new A/C unit, new linens, and was painted.
Choice Hotels does have standards set for each hotel brand and receive yearly inspections. We are an older property but we are a Clean hotel and Strive to offer our guests an enjoyable stay. It is unfortunate that the customer feels that we are not a humanly acceptable hotel. We have families that have returned year after year because they enjoy the location, accommodations and Swimming pool. We have spoken with [redacted], the online affiliate with whom she made her reservations with and asked for her to be refunded for 50% of the rate she was charged for the smoking room.
