Days Inn Leesburg

Review: My family and I stayed at this hotel while in town for a family wedding. We were hoping to save money by choosing this establishment. Upon arrival we were overwhelmed with the intense smell of cigarette smoke and although we had requested a non - smoking room we were placed just a few doors down from the smoking area which was NOT barricaded in by doors of any kind. We were traveling with our 12 month old baby & our 6 year old asthmatic daughter. I immediately requested a refund so that we could check into another hotel for the health & safety of our children primarily. We were rudely denied this refund and told that our complaints were "null & void" since our reservation was "nonrefundable". The floors in the actual hotel room were so filthy that our white socks instantly turned black after waking across the room just a few times. My infant daughter was confined to her portable crib the entire weekend due to this lack of cleanliness. My asthmatic daughter had to use her inhaler repeatedly, we had to open windows, deodorize constantly, and keep the bathroom fan on to try & keep the smoke out. The staff were rude, hateful, & inattentive to our needs. Our room was not cleaned not even once the entire weekend. When I called the front desk to politely request some clean towels I was told to go out in the hallway & retrieve them myself from the maid cart. When we later inquired as to why our room had not been cleaned we were told that we had "declined" the cleaning service but that our trash had at least been emptied. Our trash remained overflowing the entire weekend & was never emptied once. We never "declined" a cleaning & in fact we were never offered. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had and we feel that our health & most importantly the health of our young children was certainly jeaprodized. The sanitation, safety, & customer service aspect of this hotel need to be dramatically revamped. I file this complaint in hopes of saving another innocent consumer, especially those with children, from having the same horrible experience.Desired Settlement: As mentioned above the primary reason for filing this complaint is to protect future consumers. However I do feel my family & I have earned a refund of our stay.
