Days Inn Statesville

Review: We reserved a double room for weekend of October 16-18, 2015. On Friday night, we discovered that the in-room microwave didn't work. We called front desk to ask for a new one, which they provided, but they left the one that didn't work in the room, which was fine. On Saturday, my husband and son went to the event in the area while I stayed in room. I laid down in early afternoon for a nap, and when I woke up, I discovered that someone had entered room while I was asleep and took one microwave. When my family returned with supper, I was sitting on bed with legs folded under me and noticed that my feet were completely black. With the white washcloth from hotel, I cleaned my feet, making the washcloth completely black. I had walked barefoot on floor and the floor was so dirty that my feet were completely black. We only stayed because we always bring our own sheets and blankets and pillows because my husband is allergic to many laundry detergents. We all took a shower, walked in socks and left as quickly as possible on Sunday morning. I became sick and spent four days in bed, finally ending up at my doctor's office due to the nastiness of this room. Please urge others not to stay at this hotel until a deep cleaning has been done. It is disgustingly nasty and is just a danger to people's health. There is no reason why my feet should have been that dirty from walking around on a floor for one day! That is gross. I have contacted the property and they gave me $20 back for the worker coming in the room while I was asleep. The management has been quite argumentative and has accused me of lying about becoming ill. I have also contacted corporate offices of Days Inn and they say it is a franchise and can only be handled by the individual property. I never want to even drive through your town again! Completely gross!Desired Settlement: I should get an entire refund! The public should be warned of this property as well. There is absolutely no reason why all this should have gone on and it is sad that I pad $137 to get sick, stay in a disgusting room, and have someone come in my room while I was asleep. What else did that person do while they were in there? My pocketbook with my credit cards and money were laying out and my medicines were just laying out in the open while I slept. This is a place that no one should stay!
