Daystarr Motors in Minnetonka is a little different than other used car dealershipsWhen you enter their lot, the sale agents wait to greet you while you first browse through their lot so you don't feel like their hovering from the moment you get thereThe employees are actually friendly and easy to talk to, which honestly makes it easier to tell them exactly what your looking for and whatever your financial situation may beWhen I initially went to Daystarr, I was looking for a new vehicle after my previous had been stolen, so I obviously wasn't in the best spot financiallyThe owner, Andy, was super friendly and very understanding when I told him my situation, that I didn't have very good credit nor did I have a lot of money to put downI was pleasantly surprised when he told me that he could help with in house financingThey also have a lot of affordable options and its nice to see cars that you can afford but also really niceWho knew going shopping for a vehicle could be so enjoyable? I would absolutely recommend them to any of my friends and family

I had a great experience at Daystarr MotorsAndy was very attentive to my needs, even though he was working alone for a whileHis financing is very reasonable with no interestThis is great for someone like me who is building back my credit

Picked up an Audi with great millageAndy went over everything with me and even took my trade in without a problemI thought I had gotten a great deal and was excited because I'm supposed to move across country in a couple months, my old car was not going to make it much longerHad a mechanic friend who looked at what he he could while we were there and said yes based on what he could see and look at without a shopMade the hour drive home from Minnetonka and the next day had a huge puddle of oil! Got it into a dealership and had a diagnostic doneI now have to postpone my move because it's going to cost me close to what I paid for this carAndy when told of the issues brushed them off like it was nothing, made it as though the dealership was just looking for moneyHe did offer to do the repairs at his shop but when you're leaking oil and used loan money to buy the vehicle in the first place it's hard to drive two hours to sit around for a day and I don't know that I trust his mechanic if all of these problems were missed in the first placeEven with my own mechanic just charging me the cost of parts my $car is still going to end up costing me closer to $
Don't purchase a vehicle from this dealership without a FULL inspection from a reliable mechanic in a shopPay the extra just to cover yourself in case this place tries to sell you a lemon

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/12/07) */
I would like to address the complaint filed against our company
First of all this car was sold "AS IS" with no warranty! We were not required to fix anything but were willing to help her out
We were told the Xhad a coolant leak, we
repaired the leak by replacing the expansion tank, and the upper radiator hose! Both of which we have recipts for
There was never anything wrong with the A/C she simply didn't know how to turn it on a BMW that's all! we showed her how to use the A/C properly and never heard back from her again
After fixing the coolant leak we also never heard back from her on this issue
If she had a issue with the fix which we did for FREE by the way, then she had a obligation to give us a chance to look at it as it would have been under warrentyshe never told us there was a problemI've never seen any repair from Bobby& steve's confirming that it was the same issue and not a new issue that may have arrived
we offer our customer's hr at our service center for the life of the carShe should have let us know there was still a issue
The reason she stopped by numerous times was because at the time we only had mechat the time and we needed to take her car in after the other cars before her's got fixed
The key issue was my fault, I did forget to call them, however if it was that big of a deal they could have just went to BMW themselves and got a keyit was just a spare key and not the main key for the carI received phone call from her husbandNot numerous calls like she is
implying!!
8.My number has never been blocked or denied! Why would anybody block their number when it is the main number for the dealership?? as you can see she likes to dramatize thing and exaggerate things to excess!
There was never atrocious customer service!.we fixed the coolant leak for free even though we didn't have too!..we have no idea what the other leak was and can assure the Revdex.com this was not the same issue as we put brand new parts in the car!
10.I will not be refunding to her as she never gave us a chance to relook at the BMW Xto see what the problem was! Plus I feel this Customer has greatly exaggerated any issues with Myself or Daystarr Motors

We purchased a Chrysler Town and Country on August 4, The people were very nice and it was a great experience that dayLess than miles later the check engine light came onI messaged the owner, Andy, asking him if he knew of anything wrong that would cause thisHe said it was probably that the gas cap wasn't clicked timesIt ended up gaving us an engine misfire codeWe took it into the shop as it started having issuesIt ended up being the head gasketOur mechanic said it had been like that for awhile and that someone had been in there messing with wires (which we had replaced) and probably knew this was an issueI called and explained to Andy the issueHis demeanor immediately got defensive when I asked if he would do anything to make it rightAgain claiming "the gas cap" "well that wasn't us, we bought it at an auction"No "I'm sorry that happened to you"I'm not saying he knew about the issue (the van HAD been on the lot since March) but it seems pretty dishonest and quite a coincedence that the light came on shortly after we bought it as if had been recently clearedUsed car sales get a bad rep, this is whyJust be careful, could be some dishonest business going on thereWe unfortunately won't be going back or recommending them in the future

I bought a used Chevy HHR with approx129k miles on June 12th, Within the first week the check engine light came on and within the first two months, I have had to spend about 2k on parts and labor to keep the car runningIf you buy a car from here, get a full vehicle inspection from a third party before you purchase itI usually do, but the sales people here stated that the car had been recently maintained and repaired by themThey even showed me receiptsI understand that cars require maintenance and repairs, but having to spend 2k within first couple of months is a bit extremeI will not go back hereShould have not purchased from themAdded, Nov 29th 2018: Just when you think it does not get any worse, the engine threw a rod and now the car needs an engine replacementThis is the worst car deal I have ever encounteredI've owned at least used cars, and currently own Buyers beware of this seller, just be safe an get an third party inspection or an extended warrantyI have not contacted the owners or anyone at Daystarr motors, because I do understand that I bought an vehicleIf they really cared, they would look at there sale records and find my information and contact meThis review is for future buyers to be aware
