Please do not go to this vet if you have an exotic pet! My family brought our year old guinea pig here for a simple runny eyeWe wanted to be sure he was not in the beginning stages of a URI - so we brought him in to be safeUpon taking a fecal sample DrB*** mis-diagnosed him with an intestinal infection - which he had ZERO symptoms of (great appetite, feces and urine, very active/energetic, no other changes) After never having examined him or even bothered listening to his lungs despite runny eyes being a tell tale sign of a URI - he sent us on our way with a $billLong story short, the antibiotics he prescribed made him sicker and caused him massive intestinal issues (bloating, loss of appetite, constipation, and dehydration)We brought him in as soon as he began to worsen and suddenly DrB*** believes it to be a respiratory infectionGives us another set of medication - and charges yet another $200+ even though he did not do his job the first timeWithin hours of seeing him, our little guy was crying out in pain and unable to walk anymoreWe rushed him back in and upon taking an x-ray DrB*** let us know that his stomach was backed up as well as being full of gas (also listed as side effects of the medication he inaccurately prescribed)He told us that there was no guarantee that he could be saved and that he was indeed sufferingWe had to do the humane thing and put him to sleep last nightOur family was, and still is, heartbroken and completely in disbeliefTo add insult to injury, we were then charged $to euthanize him, and a $"euthanization office visit"This man killed our pet due to negligence and incompetencyHe is arrogant and rude and has zero bedside mannerI am not one to write negative reviews because I "didn't get my way" or just to be a thorn in someone's sideI'm sure he has taken great care of other pets - but not oursWe trusted him and all he was out for was moneyAccording to many other reviews on here, we are not the only family who see thisBefore we could even say goodbye to our pet they were asking about paymentMoney is not an issue - we would spend $100,if needed to save any of our babies, but due to DrB***'s negligence, that wasn't even an optionThe entire office staff is unprofessional, uncaring, and absolutely not fit to work with animalsThey do not care about the well being of the pets they're being entrusted withOur sweet pig lost his life, and I cannot change that - but if I can prevent this from happening to even ONE other animal, then writing this review is worth it

I have been going to DrBrauer for yearsHe always seemed to be genuinely care about the well being of my dogsThe downside of that was he was expensiveIn 2015, my girls yearly checkup with vaccines, heartworm meds, and labs for dog was $Friends and family told me I should change vets b/c I was getting ripped off, but I continued to stayJim was the lead vet tech and he was bombHe raced around like he had drank a pot of expresso, but that was okHe knew how to handle my very difficult dogI loved him and trusted him completelyI started noticing changesStuff being removed from the lobby, staff who had been there for almost as long as I've been going there, goneA slew of new faces coming and goingThen suddenly, Jim, was gone as well? When I asked, nobody knew anything about himHe really knew how to handle ChloeMoving on, I took Chloe in for a dental, which was to be her last oneShe's almost yrs old, but she also has AddisonsI was very nervous for her to go under due to her age and the AddisonsDr Brauer assured me she would be fine and he had never let me down beforeOn the day of surgery, I had asked them to pull one lone molar in the back that she refused to let me brush, but only if Dr Brauer thought it was safe to doThen I get a call from a tech during surgery stating they had started to pull on the molar when her eye started to swell upI asked if the tooth was loose, they said no, and I told them to leave it alone at that pointI asked why would her eye swell and the tech said something to do with the way the vasculature runs through thereSo at this point I just want her to get through surgery so I can bring her homeWhen I go to pick her up later, I could hardly believe what I was seeingHer eye was all but hanging out of the socket and it was bloody! Again I asked what happenedThis time they said they were getting ready to pull it when her eye started swellingShe stated that they hadn't even started to pull on it when the swelling startedOk, first of all, you guys need to get your stories straightSecondly, why is dr Brauer not out here explaining why and how this happenedI get my Chloe home and try to care for her, but whatever happened severely traumatized herNine months later and she is still not the same dog I dropped off for a dental that dayBut here's the kickerWithin a week, not sure of exact time, I made an appointment with dr Brauer because I wanted an explanationHe told me in all his years of practice he had never seen anything like this happenI asked if maybe someone could have dropped something on her maybe someone got mad b/c she bit them? He stated no, because he had been supervisingReally? So you were supervising while techs worked on my year old, medically complex dog and something you've never seen happen, happensSounds like a bunch of crap to meTHEN, he tried to charge me for an office visitI told them I wasn't going to pay itYou should be reimbursing me for the damage you did to my dogMy baby trusts no one now, not even meI can no longer comfort her the way I used toThe eye they damaged developed a cataract and she is nearly blindBut, there is a happy endingDr Brauer is still driving his Hummer!!!
