Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Unfortunately, I did not see this email until today 6/*/15  re:( ID#[redacted] )  [redacted] said to us that the candle light display was for rent.  She never said that.  She said the piece was $250.00 and if we wanted our daughter's name in glitter it would be $300.00  If she attached the correct proposal you will see that the product of the display doesn't mention anywhere that it is for rent.  Furthermore, my daughter did not start jumping up and down as [redacted] claims.   The store has video cameras, request for that day's video and you can see that my daughter is not jumping up and down. Furthermore after I googled reviews for this company I came across many reviews of many unsatisfied customers of whom one of them documented that a plexiglass display for a [redacted] & [redacted]  wedding was for rental of $65.00 with a security of $365.00.   Amongst these complaints there are others such as hidden charges.  [redacted] said the display was for $350.00 and our credit card came with a $388.00 charge.   the website with all these negative reviews is called [redacted] in case you want to verify my claims.  Feel free to [redacted] these reviews.  thank you.  [redacted]

Review: We were shown a candle light display for our daughter's sweet 16 and were told that this was the product that we could purchase. [redacted] told us that she could incorporate our daughter's name in glitter with the alice in wonderland theme in it as well. When we picked up the item it was not the same item she had shown us at the store. Then she said that the item in the store was for rental not for sale, something she never mentioned to us at the store. I should've known before hiring her. Her wording in her proposal about other items were ambiguous, vague and misleading. After a back and forth of emails with her about the products which everytime I asked something her answers left me even more confused. So we decided to purchase only the candlelight display that she showed us at the store, to find ourselves with a candlelight display more fit for a 3 year old (cartoonist) rather than the plastic candlelight that she had shown us and told us she could sell to us. What a dissapointment and our daughter's event is on June ** of this year.Desired Settlement: We would like the candle light display that she showed us at the store or a refund.

Response:

I’ve received the complaint and am acknowledging the situation with pictures, emails going back and forth with the client, etc.. to which I am attaching to this email for your review. I originally met with the client at a bridal showcase at [redacted] on Wednesday, February *, 2015. At that time, our booth had several items on display to which one of them was a candle light display which we rent (see image 3885). This is a rental piece made out of Plexiglas and we rent it to the clients as is for $50 + cost of name (if not in stock). This piece does not have an “Alice in Wonderland” theme nor can this be done for this particular display… This piece was never an option for what [redacted] wanted to do for her daughter’s event and we had discussed this in-person at the showcase. She made an appointment to come into my store and discuss other options. As you will notice from the proposal, there were several items that the client had wanted when we met at my office on February **, 2015 at 12 pm. We discussed several items to which one of them was a candle lighting with an “Alice in Wonderland” theme. I provided them with a proposal on March **, 2015 to which I didn’t hear back from them for quite some time. Due to the fact that I had other clients inquire and book our services for the same date as [redacted]’s daughter’s event, I advised [redacted] that we could no longer do her daughter’s event because we were sold out and other clients had already reserved the date with us. [redacted] acknowledged this and asked us if we could still do her daughter’s candle lighting display. I let her know that we could and sent her the full description again the same (see attached chain email) from the original proposal which she acknowledged and agreed upon. I provided her with an invoice with the description of the item (see attached PDF invoice) and she sent back to me the signed credit card authorization (see attached image002). On Thursday, May [redacted], I called [redacted] and advised her that the piece arrived in my office from my designer with the “Alice in Wonderland” theme, client’s name in glitter and the 16 candles (see attached picture) as per our email conversation with [redacted] and the invoice provided to her at time of order. She advised me that she would come in the next day to pick the item up. Fast forward to yesterday (Thursday, May [redacted]) – two weeks later - [redacted] and her daughter arrive in my store and I present them with the candle lighting display to which [redacted] started jumping up and down about how beautiful it was and how much she loved it… I had several witnesses that were in my store at the time they picked up their display to acknowledge this. [redacted] and [redacted] thanked us for the beautiful job, signed off on the invoice that they inspected the item and there are no refunds or returns (see attached [redacted] Invoice) and took the display piece along with the candles out of the store… Approximately 30 minutes later, [redacted] and [redacted] came back into the store claiming that this is not the piece that they were promised. They wanted the rental piece instead and they did not like this piece. The piece was custom made specifically for [redacted] with exactly the same the description provided to [redacted] several times during the course of our months of communication. If she is interested in renting the Plexiglas piece, I will be more than happy to rent it to her for $50 + the cost of the name “[redacted]” + tax. However this piece cannot be done in an “Alice In Wonderland” theme. What she sees in the attached picture is how it is. This piece is a rental and must be returned to us. The piece that she purchased is theirs to keep. Please let me know if you require further details or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
