Review: I called this company because my floor board heating was not functioning properly. They came to home home to assess my boiler in the basement on 10/13/14 and deemed that my boiler needed to be replaced at a cost of $5900. The tech stated that there was no water flowing through the system. He told me that it is possible that our recent contractor could have altered the original water heating pipes incorrectly, stopping water from flowing through. Then, after he talked to his boss, he told that the boiler need to be replaced and it was "probably because there is too much 'gunk' in the boiler, so it has to be replaced." We arranged for this service to be done on 10/15/14. The next day, the company had called me to confirm the appointment, and I told them I had to think about it because the price was something I couldn't currently afford. Then what happened was on the morning of 10/15/14, my wife smelled gas in our bedroom. I immediately called PSEG who came promptly at 9:15 am. Their assessment showed that the gas line to the pool, which had been shut off back in 2009, was turned off and was profusely spewing gas into our backyard. In the midst of checking out this issue, I told the PSEG tech that the only thing that changed in the past few days was that B [redacted] and cooling came to the house to inspect the boiler and assessed that I needed a new one. The tech then checked the boiler himself and assessed that it, in fact, did not have to be replaced at all. He stated that there were no cracks or leaks in the system and that the reason why the water was not flowing the system is because the shut off valve was on. The PSEG tech then turned on the water supply and it was completely functional, without any leaks. I believe that I was being told my system was not working in order to make a very expensive sale. I spoke to the company and they deny that they turned on the gas. They also would not fess up to the fact that they lied to me about having to buy a new systemDesired Settlement: Number 1 is I want a written, formal apology for this. I do not want to speak to this owner as he was very dismissive about his wrong doing.

Number 2, I want them to pay for all the gas that was spilled into my backyard because of opening the gas line. When I told the owner about this, he disregarded my concern and kept asking me why the gas line had to be closed in the first place. My response to him was that his tech should not have turned a [redacted] without knowing what it did, and IF he did, he should have left it in its original setting. I have a wife and daughter who were in the home who could have been hurt due to this.
