Good Morning,Customer’s Statement of Problem: Was charged for services without my knowledge, work performed without estimate or discussion of cost.My response to Revdex.com:I was called upon to preform repair services for this client. There was a brief discussion a couple of months prior, on
the telephone as to my hourly rate for work performedIn hindsight, I should have left nothing to assumptions and reminded the client of the rate. I typically work repair jobs on a “time and materials” basis.As asked, I arrived on time and the only information I had to go on was “I have a broken coffee table and mis-directed outside motion lights”. No specifics, so I only know what I’m doing once I arrive.I do apologize for not reviewing the rate once I arrived. I was pointed immediately to both what needed done as well as an additional Item. There was no further discussion of how much this would cost, simply the client was appreciative for me being there to complete the work. Virtually all my repair work is done on a time and materials basis and more often than not it works to the customers advantage.The job, all tolled, took approximately two hours in length over a two day period (repair day one, let set, then re-assemble day two). When I finished the first phase on day one I told the client no problem in paying me once the work was complete. Again, no discussion of what the final cost would be.The next day I finished the work and the client asked how much was owed, I said , $(time and materials). Without hesitation the client wrote me a check and thanked me.In closing, thank you for your time and consideration.Sincerely,*** ***DB Home & Property Services
